Room was amazing and much more than I was expecting.. Very modern and immaculate. Bathroom was my favourite. Comfortable bed and plenty of space. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. Only negative was as it was so warm we needed window open and it was a bit noisy.Rooms: 5/5
Great location to city centre a couple minutes walk and train station. Around corner from Manchester Cathedral, which is just beautiful, short walk to attractions such as museums and 5 minutes walk to all the shops. Room was really spacious and extremely clean. Bed was super comfy. Shower in our bathroom was hot!! easy to adjust though if too hot for some. Stayed Sunday to Tuesday, pub quiz night on the Sunday, which was great fun!! Food is lovely, our breakfast both mornings was delish!!! Had a few games of pool with drinks on the Tuesday before we left for the train in the afternoon. Great atmosphere and the service the team provided throughout stay was fab . Would definitely stay here again.
If you stay here it's best to ask not to have the quality street room if you're not much of night person as that's right above the speakers in the pub, so the noise will be very loud until 10:30pm. Shame we didn't get the breakfast because they only had one cook and that cook was ill, so got told to go to their sister hotel the mitre , when we went there the breakfast wasn't even prepared, waited 5 minutes and had a coffee, told there was a waiting time of 20-30 minutes for hot breakfast to be ready, by this time we had to leave to go to the train station. I'm sure on other days the experience would have been much better. Overall it's still a good place for the price.
Well priced for a lovely room with most things you could need - minus a hairdryer. Can hear noise from other guests quite easily but nothing unbearable. We had paid for a deluxe king room with a city view, photos advertised showed a large room with two big windows overlooking the city. We arrived and were put in a tiny room with a small window looking out onto a wall. We brought this up to the staff and even though they doubted whether they’d have a city view and bigger room available even though that’s what we’d booked and paid a bit extra for they did put us in the correct room as advertised. Breakfast which was included was lovely and cooked to our liking. Staff are easygoing
We stayed here when we went to the AO Arena, great location, within 10 mins walk from arena and 6 minutes from Arndale shopping center. The rooms were cosy and clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was great, will definately consider for any future visits to Manchester Rooms: 5/5
Great place to stay Even better if you like sport, due to down stairs is a sports bar .Staff were lovely .Had an early flight and still offered to make me tea and toast before I left Great team. Rooms: Everything provided. Comfy bed.
Very poor hotel. Hotel advertised “luxury” rooms. Mine was small and basic. Couldn’t reach the window without crawling across the bed. Drum and beat music from bar below literally shook the floor of the room until after 10pm. Wafer thin rooms so noise all night. Breakfast was instant coffee sachets with hot water from an urn. Cooked breakfast was reasonable. Wasn’t permitted to leave my luggage post check out for a couple of hours - had to walk it up to their sister hotel, the Mitre, where I was asked to leave it without ticket or proof of deposit there. When I returned it was still in the public place where I was asked to leave it. Staff at the Black Lion were not unhelpful, just a little uninterested. Chamber maid was good. It was a really poor hotel and would NOT recommend.
Went for breakfast. Had to wait an hr for 2 full english breakfast. when it did arrive, most of it was cold. We ate it just so we could get on our way. Staff were friendly & place was clean.Service: 2/5
Busy location to keep your windows closed at night if you're a light sleeper breakfast was nice guests 15% off food and drink, only thing I have to complain about was the cleaner didn't empty are bin when we checked in and we paid for late check out it's a good job I was fully clothed because the cleaner came into are room we did have a do not disturb sign on are door too
Great hotel, Danny on the bar was extremely accommodating and helpful. Great service 10/10Rooms: 5/5
