We stayed for 2 nights as we were doing the Masons gin tour. The staff were so welcoming and attentive for the full visit, even taking and collecting us from Masons Distillery. The room was just lovely, with the extra little touches. We ate in the bar on the 1st night and the restaurant on the 2nd; both were enjoyable evenings with food far superior to your usual pub food. Definitely somewhere to return to!
What a beautiful find of a B&B this was. We had a great, friendly welcome and that service continued throughout our stay. We had booked 3 rooms and the rooms were beautifully decorated. One of the rooms was a family room. This had 2 full size single beds in one room and a king-size bed in the other. The rooms were connected, which was great as our kids are a bit older. They also had their own TV with a dvd player and a little selection of dvds. We ate in the restaurant, which was delicious, as was the breakfast. I would highly recommend the Black Horse Inn.
So, we stayed last night Sat 17th Dec, last minute reservation, we've stayed here previously in our camper so we knew the food was 1st class and the place is spotless. Our room was really cosy, everything exceeded our expectations, again the food was excellent, the staff are really friendly and helpful, after our breakfast we booked in for a Christmas stay over including Christmas Day for our dinner. Nothing to say in any way negatively whatsoever. Campers please note: you are so welcome here, that's how we first came to find this place. What a gem!
What a little gem, This is the first time I have stayed at the Black Horse and it won't be the last! Steve and the team go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and the chefs put on a fantastic spread! My room was so comfortable and what a great attention to detail Sorry kids spotted the Curly Wurlys on a video call! Hope to be doing more business in Northallerton very soon.
We stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant. Hotel: very friendly welcome and shown promptly to the room. Stayed in the "Shergar" room which is large, clean and very well laid out. Every little necessity was available with a good coffee machine, kettle, etc. A roll top bath and very good shower in the bathroom gave a additional touch of luxury. Restaurant: It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. Clearly a lot of regular customers. The food was amazing, good choice including Vegan options that my daughter thought were delicious. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. I broke my diet to eat the sticky toffee pudding and it was soooooooo good. A bottle of fine Borolo really set the whole meal off. This isn't just a hotel / restaurant it's an Experience and in my opinion a very good one. The manager must be proud of the staff and the quality of the service. Very highly recommended, I wish we lived near so that we could eat here more often.
Went here to meet old friends. It was a great place with a nice atmosphere, the beer was cool and tasty and plentiful. The food would have been absolutely perfect mushroom starter, mains were Steak + bangers and mash + scampi and chips + steak and kidney but was spoilt by the wet tirimasu which felt like it had been previously frozen but badly defrosted, leaving a pool of water at the bottom and stripping it of it's coffee flavour, which is why I've given 4 stars. Luckily this didn't spoil the evening though.
What a fantastic off the beaten track country pub. The food was exceptional as was the staff. A great little warm room followed by a great breakfast. Whenever I’m working in the area I shall return
Always a fantastic place to stay. Great staff, great rooms, excellent food with the best breakfast. Really good atmosphere in rhe bar. Called direct and got a brilliant rate when we arrived we got an upgrade to a really nice room Best Mate.Rooms: 5/5
Visited Kirkby Fleetham Hall and Church for a festive short break. This pub was a short walk away so we went twice! The food is exceptional, it was easy to book online, the staff are extremely friendly and efficient and the whole place had a cosy, relaxed and warm atmosphere. Extremely welcoming, dog and child friendly, we had the best experience. Well done all, a fabulous place to visit for food and drinks. We also had the BEST dessert I've had in quite a long time - the passion fruit martini vodka creme brulee with prosecco sorbet was absolutely divine and I actually feel quite sad that we travel home tomorrow and I won't get to eat it again - haha! Food & drinks: Fantastic food, well presented and delicious. The kids menu especially was really excellent, our two 10&7yr old smashed their dinners and we're completely bowled over by dessert, the kid's menu isn't an afterthought, it's as good as the adult's menu and the desserts are top notch.
Beautiful pub in a fab village with easy access from the A1M. We stayed in the car park overnight in our campervan with EHU and also access to the pubs toilets 24hrs. The food is fabulous with a great menu and very well priced. Descent selectionn of beers and excellent wine menu. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and we will be back again for another enjoyable evening.
