"The Black Dog is a recently re-furbished 18th century half-timbered pub located in the heart of Newent. We are a child friendly pub and welcome all members of the public including families and dogs. We have an open lounge and separate dining room with delicious daytime and evening meals.We like to keep our customers happy and entertained; we host evenings of live music, traditional pub games, pool table, have a large sports TV and offer all our customers free wifi. The pub features a sheltered outdoor smoking area and on-site parking."

Only a flying visit but a roaring log fire and Butty Bach on draught is irresistible, the menu looks good and ingredients are locally sourced. I will be returning in the summer to enjoy the beer garden... Hopefully the wife will drive home.

Great local pub. Good range of beers. Well worth a visit

Never open. And when I went for a drink. There was a dog hair in my drink..off putting..black coarse dog hair....

This pub is in the town of Newent, and is popular with local people, which is always a good sign.. There's a large car park and outdoor area and the atmosphere inside is friendly and lively. There's often free live music available so plenty of good reasons to call in!

It's OK pretty standard pub nothing to complain about had a few beers there with a friend. The only down side is it could have a better selection of ales and not all the staff seem that friendly.

Food outstanding. Great value for money. Can’t wait to come back and try other meals off the menu. Will be recommending

Lovely to have the Take away back until we can visit on the 12th April. Enjoyed a tasty takeaway last night fantastic owners and team keep up the good work.
