Gartmore is a lovely village on the way to Aberfoyle. The black bull is community run so check opening times but is well worth a visit. Good food. Parking available beside the pubRooms: 5/5

The restaurant is very cosy and serves great typical British dishes and beers. Recommended if you are around Gartmore!
I booked 5 rooms in the pub for family and friends for my daughters wedding at Gartmore Village Hall. Everyone has been delighted with the accommodation. The bedrooms are decorated to a really high standard and everyone enjoyed the hearty breakfasts. The service is very laid back and friendly but so welcoming. This pub is community owned and run and is a real credit to the hard work of staff and wider village. Gartmore village is delightful and this is a real gem right in the middle of it. You are so close to some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. Book now and enjoy.
We had dinner and were not disappointed. Small menu, but all the better for it: fresh ingredients and quality meat. The starter with haggis was fantastic and the steak grilled to perfection. Huge sticky toffee pudding dessert nailed it. Service friendly with a smile. We would have preferred a pub setting to dine in, instead of the slightly more impersonal restaurant setting, but can well understand the choice they made seeing this is a community-run business.
Lovely place to eat. Beautifully cooked local food served by attentive, knowledgeable and warm staff. Visited twice whilst camping locally. Would highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a small little village and what makes it even better is that the village community owns it and therefore benefits as a whole. The rooms where modern, the bed comfortable and the pub was warm, welcoming and authentic. Breakfast was good and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
