Definitely, our favorite restaurant in Bristol so far. For people who don't like mainstream places, this is the place. It's a little bit expensive we paid £46 each for 3 small dishes, dessert and a glass of wine each, but you get what pay, it's a nice treat for once in a while. The quality of the food is amazing the beef and the lamb were one of our favorite things, and from the desserts, the chocolate fudge is a must have, so leave so room for it. The waitress were incredibly sweet and smiley. And finally, the restaurant per se is very quiet, with low and chilling music, what makes the customers to speak in a low voice, and the surrounding is just a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Tip for newcomers, get 3 small dishes, and the dessert!
Cute unpretentious local restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. Perfectly cooked pork belly which it is not always obvious and artichoke dish stood out!
What a fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant! Delicious food and amazing helpful staff. An absolute must!
Quality of the food and well presented. Every dishes amazingly testy.
Fantastic service and delicious food. Hope whomever buys the place when the current owners sell manage to maintain the same standard. We had six dishes between two of us and had room for desert. You can genuinely taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into preparing them. Our server was also excellent - my wife was on crutches when we visited and the server went out of her way to make sure she was happy. Will definitely come again.
Lovely food great flavour combinations. Wine was delicious
A small intimate restaurant, just a short stroll from vibrant North Street serving sharing dishes of exceptional quality. The new owner and staff are very enthusiastic and friendly and aim to maintain the previous high standards. As for the food, if you're looking for large portions this place will not be for you, but if quality and a desire to sample locally sourced produce is high on your list then you will not be disappointed. Excellent selection of wines and spirits although the beer and cider choices were somewhat limited, but I understand these are being added to. Thank you once again for a lovely evening.
Best meal I have had in ages. The daily changing meant was fantastic. The waitress with the curly hair made us feel completely comfortable. Great atmosphere, lovely wine and beer. Can’t rate this place highly enough.
Was looking forward to going to this restaurant as all the reviews seem amazing. Sorry to say that although the food was very nice, the portion sizes are very small for the money. As it was sold to us by the waiter as tapas style dishes, it was hard to see how a crispy fried egg on the smoked duck salad could be split 4 waysor even 2 ways. The restaurant has a rather basic feel to the decor and the waiter and waitress that served us were fine, but no more than any other restaurant. Sorry Birch this reviewer didn't feel that you lived up to my expectations.
Reopened in August 2018 under new ownership. We went last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were very impressed. They've retained the ethos of a small neighbourhood restaurant, focusing on local, seasonal ingredients while freshening up the menu to serve a fantastic array of small plates, perfect for sharing. Great wines, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Can't wait to go back.
