Dropped in here after a show in town. Was my first time in The BR but definitely not my last. The young friendly barman called Sean was very helpful and accommodating in helping us choose cocktails which he made expertly and so beautifully. There is a mixed clientele but a very good atmosphere and I would highly recommend a visit.
The place is quite packed for a Sunday evening. There is live jazz music every Sunday from 6-8pm and it was fabulous. Good selection of drinks; cocktails at around 12-15 Euros while beers from 5+. It’s worth mentioning that their staffs are friendly. Overall love the vibe of the place and would come back!
A tiny, but amazing place, got the last available table on Sunday jazz session and boy it was a fab time! Lovely staff, a killer selection of beers on tap and bottle we came for beer explicitly, but they have a kickass cocktail and Japanese whiskey list, absolutely stunning experience with amazing ambience. Just loved it. Would be a regular if lived in Dublin.
Desperate for a more relaxed atmosphere and excellent beer I was so happy to find this place. The staff were so friendly and chatted with me about beer selection. They also made incredible cocktails! Nice selection of beers on rotating taps from local Irish craft breweries. Would absolutely recommend and visit again! Such a great place to spend an evening.
First time at Big Romance which is nestled away in Parnell Street in Dublin 1. Being a Friday it was very busy. Service was a little slow. Such a great and unique vibe and very unusual and quirky cocktails. Mixed hip crowd with some funky tunes going on in the background.I will definitely be back when it's a little quieter to relive the experience again. Go check it out. Recommended.
My friend and I stayed at a hostel down the road, and happened to walk into The Big Romance as it was opening one afternoon. Fast forward to us being there 5 nights out of that week, it’s perhaps our favourite bar in the world. Sean and Frankie made us feel so, so welcome, and are both incredible drink slingers. Outstanding music every time we were there, expect to hear a different genre on every visit. Heavenly. I cannot wait to go back to Dublin, whenever that may be, because The Big Romance will be the first stop after the airport
Very nice spot in Parnell Street. Great music and lovely drinks. Book a table in advance is pretty busy place but not very big.
Was here for the week in Dublin for a conference and heard about this place because of the live jazz on Sunday nights. I got pretty lucky getting a table, and ordered the vegetarian pizza from their neighbours I believe and a D'Angiò cocktail. The musicians were top-notch, the atmosphere was cool, and I had an amazing time.
What more could you ask for? Friendly bar tender with great taste in music, ambiance and some wicked cocktails and craft beer. Need to get down for a jazz night soon.
The place is beautiful and cozy, it is small but doesn’t feel too packed. When we arrive something happened that my booking was somehow messed up, the staff were so nice and accommodating and managed to get me a table promptly! I understand this things happened and I wasn’t expecting to get a table then, but they did! The pizza is amazing and delicious, the cocktails are also delicious and fairly priced for Dublin city centre. I had the spicy margarita and it’s probably one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. The music was really good and the atmosphere as well. The music wasn’t too loud, we still managed to listen to each other without shouting even when we were sitting next to the speakers : I can’t wait to come back and try other cocktails and pizzas.
