Benn hall is a good community event location. Parking is good, nice sized venue.nnThe annual panto production here is great with the core team of actors putting on a first class show with jokes that work for the adults and children on different levels.nnThings which could be improved would be the seating as this is quite old and not that comfortable for longer durations seated.
So many good events at the Benn Hall.nElo experience was fantastic.nAnother good tribute,Robbie Williams,he looked and sounded like him.
Visited last year to see a Rock Guitar show, and last Saturday a Status Quo tribute band. I have tickets for the real band Mud on Friday and a Pink Floyd tribute act Saturday next week and more shows later 8n the year . Drinks are normal pub prices in the bar, and serve draught beers...unlike some other theatres I've attended that only sell bottled or canned beers. Downside is the Carling is almost flat and not nice. Don't know if the other beers are the same? You used to be able to take your drinks outside the front door with you if you went to smoke, but now there are 2 security guys there that make you leave your alcoholic drinks inside the door on the table. If like myself and the lady I attended with you don't like smoking without a drink it's a bit annoying. There's only a very small reduction in price for disabled, unlike every other theatre I've attended music shows that provide free carer tickets. And at around £28-£30 each thats a big saving normally. Not normal theatre seating, rows of chairs that can be moved. But as the seating is all on the level, as soon as people get up to dance you cant see the bands very well....but overall a good night out of good music.
Plenty of stalls, with a multitude of collectibles and antiques. £1-50 per person entry and on a Sunday, free parking, but arrive early for best parking slots. Look around for your item on different stalls as prices vary, but stall holders will haggle. We all came away with something, so well worth the visit. Opens at 0930 on first Sunday of each month.
We went to a bodybuilding comp so a very long day. Chairs really uncomfortably & all on 1 level so hard to see stage clearly. Ladies toilets needed to be cleaned and checked as a mess , also told mens were bad too. We arrived for afternoon show on a Saturday so car park was full. Upside close to town and what looked like a nice park. Bar staff very pleasant.
