A gem at the bottom of the hill! Great selection of well kept beer, good snacks including chocolate bars. Beautiful views of the Bay from the main room. Lovely log fire on cold days and nights. Really lovely home cooked food the steak pie was awesome. Atmosphere is very friendly and the staff are too. I think it might be my favourite place in Robin Hood's Bay. Walkability: It's right at the bottom of the hill. Easy to walk towards... Harder to leave! Food & drinks: I had one of the best steak pies I've had in ages. Generous portions. Freshly cooked. Home made lamb curry was fantastic!
Visited the Bay Horse on a cold November Saturday. There were 5 of us looking for something to eat. We didn't have a reservation but we got seated straight away at 1pm. There are fantastic views from the restaurant over looking the sea. Good choice of main meals. The pub was clean and exceptionally warm which was just lovely. Dog friendly inside the restaurant. Portion sizes were good. We didn't see a dessert menu. Traditional pub drinks on offer. Friendly staff. Toilets were clean. Would definitely visit again.
Went with the kids & enjoyed a hearty meal in the family room. A couple of games of cards and a couple of pints. We all enjoyed our meals, the beer was good & relatively cheap for cask ale. Great location, friendly & helpful staff. We will be back!
I haven't stayed in the Bay Hotel so I have not rated the room status BUT if the rooms are as good as the service food and location I am sure you will not be disappointed The location is the best in Robin Hoods Bay during the summer months this place is heaving how they cope with huge numbers in such a small place is remarkable. The food is outstanding along with the alcohol and choices and all this done from a small corner bar area. The staff are pleasant and work extremely hard a great location for a bit of R&R
We only dropped in for a quick drink. Busy and was lucky for an inside table. We did see meals going out and looked very nice. Sadly we hadn't had time on this visit to stop long. All the good reason to visit again.Service: 4/5
I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were much nicer than they look on the pictures on the website. The views from room 1 were nothing short of spectacular. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. The food served was lovely, the little beer garden out the back my idea of heaven, with the sea crashing against the wall. The village is stunning, but you need a certain amount of fitness to get around, the terrain is more suited to a mountain goat and me trying to get up the hill to the car park was actually painful! Cannot reccomend more highly and i cannot wait to go back again soon.
Popped in here for food. Though the prices were reasonable and the food was served fast, I wasn't too impressed with the taste of it. The presentation was good and it was definitely cheaper than other food places nearby but again the taste of the chicken I ordered really put me off. It was very tinny, tasted like blood and was quite pink. The bar offered a range of different drinks. Some of the staff seemed friendly but some others seemed quite rude. Didn't get great vibes from this place despite it being in a great location, steps away from the beach. Sorry! Food & drinks: There's a great variety on the menu. Vegan/Vege options available. The meal sizes were very large, so child portions may be better suited to elderly visitors.
Second time of visiting The Bay Hotel. Two of us ate here. Dog friendly pub. Home cooked food was fantastic. Staff are polite and friendly. Good selection of drinks and great views out to sea and along the coast. Food & drinks: Home cooked, fresh food. Worth a try.
Visited for lunch while on a day trip to Robin Hood's Bay and the portion size was one that I was absolutely not expecting. My fish and chips were absolutely huge! The hotel is in a beautiful old timber framed building with fabulous views over the Bay and a welcoming log fire.Service: 5/5
Went here on Sunday around 5pm after a 10 mile walk. Dog friendly and had the Sunday roast. The food was fantastic. I had beef and Jo had the lamb. We sat in the bay window as the daylight disappeared. Highly recommended.
