Well worth a visit, the museum contains a brilliant display of WW2 aircraft including Spitfires, Hurricane, Dakota and the world famous Lancaster bomber. The display can only be seen with a guide as it is set within a operational RAF base. The guide was very knowledgeable and told various fascinating stories about the history of each aircraft. If you are lucky there might be a flight display of typhoon aircraft which take off on training runs on a regular basis. The best place to view this is in the plane spotters car park which is situated few hundred yards from entrance of the museum. Highly recommend
Wow, what an experience. This place is a must see, value for money free parking and a tour that is just under a tenner you will not be disappointed. The visitor centre is well laid out, and the hanger tour is fantastic, last for over 90 minutes and the knowledge the guide has is amazing. Please support these guys and go and see, you will not be disappointed.
Arrived a lot early my mistake and the cause of my only negative comment, the cafe was closed! The tour, the guide and the aircraft were and are Superb. The guide brought history and the technology to life. Our visit was crowned by the return of the Lancaster fron Ireland, we heard her fly overhead, magnificent, we watched her taxi to the hanger and watched as the ground crew moved her into the hanger. We even got to chat with the pilot who came over to chat and answer questions. A truly wonderful experience, and who cares about a cafe anyway?

Special heritage museum where the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is housed and maintained. Our guide was a volunteer, and had such a depth of knowledge. It was a treat to listen to him. The aircraft in the hanger included more than the expected Lancaster and Spitfire. The cafe isn't anything to write home about, but the tour was excellent. Many thanks
Excellent knowledge of the guide and up close view of the aeroplanes The Museum was small but informative. We had a tour of the hangar and saw the aircraft being repaired. We learnt a lot of interesting facts. We had to wait an hour for our tour but that wasn't a problem as we looked at the museum and we're lucky enough to see some Typhoon jets take off. You cannot buy tickets in advance in August so had to just turn up. It was busy but worth it.
Brilliant tour with great information given by our guide. Gift shop and cafe good.. some impressive aircraft including the only flying Lancaster Bomber plus spitfires and hurricanes Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Very friendly knowledgable guides. Such historic aircraft kept in immaculate flying condition. I don’t need to say any more. It has to be worth a visit for anyone just to see the aircraft up close you can’t not be moved.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
