Beautiful peaceful country pub. Food well cooked and staff most attentive. My partner enjoyed her crispy battered prawns starter as the batter was very light and crisp. Mains and dessert equally as good. Initially felt the price was a bit higher than expected but it was worth every penny. Would go again.Service: 5/5
A wonderful hotel tucked away in stunning countryside. Amy our hostess was great, so welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were immaculate, and comfortable with stunning views. The whole place was beautiful and relaxing, and both our evening meal and breakfast were delicious. High quality local ingredients cooked to perfection. Highly recommended thank you.
The Baron at Bucknell is a lovely place. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing, the Garden rooms are amazing, and the staff and service is impeccably provided with a friendly touch. We ate at the restaurant a number of times for both dinner and breakfast and I have to say the food was also delicious. Whilst the Garden rooms are more expensive than other rooms, they are well worth the expense. If you are considering a special getaway I would highly recommend booking one
Can't comment on rooms as we only called in for a drink after a walk. Lovely lady in the bar, very helpful. Tasty shortbread with the tea and coffee, good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Lovely interior, tasteful and airy. Nice seating area outside.Service: 5/5
Went for dinner on a Saturday evening. Burgers were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream yummy. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality. Service was good and the restaurant had the original millstone and cider press in the middle of the room - brick walls and original beams made for a very cosy evening. Would definitely return when we are in the area.
Wanted to have a lil break away from everyday life. This place definitely gave myself and my partner that. Lovely location with stunning views. On arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming. Such a friendly person. She kindly greeted us, then showed us our room. The room is lovely Room 3 - clean, warm winter season, not much of a view from the room - but we were able to see the sunrise which was nice. The only con that I would give about the room is the hot water runs extremely HOT - so just bear that in mind when using it. Maybe if they had a caution sign for future. The evening meal was nice. My partner and I both had burgers. My partner did not fully enjoy her veggie burger due to it not being seasoned enough but all round, it was a lovely evening. The staff that served us were all welcoming, pleasant, and attentive. Look out for the 'Chase and Runner' was a nice touch to the hotel and gave us a lil history on the building itself. Our night was pleasant. Could not hear any noise what so ever in the room we were in. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pleasant. Before arriving at the Baron, we went for a walk around Shropshire Hills, which was amazing. If you like a nice walk - definitely visit the local areas to walk. The Baron provides a booklet with different places to visit. We would definitely stay again!
Everything was lovely about this stay. The owners and staff were all really attentive and welcoming. The room was clean and cosy. The food in the restaurant was lovely. We will definitely be back.Rooms: 5/5

Perfectly run family country Inn. Very comfortable rooms with very good selection of teas coffee and more. Excellent choice at breakfast. Attractive garden with good seating and dining room has good view towards nearby wooded slopes. Dinner menu has 8-10 choices of well prepared dishes attractively presented. Wines and beer well priced. The family work hard and are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Some excellent walks through the hills, farmland and woods. Four of us stayed 3 nights and we would all go back again. Terrific.
