Great menu with lot of choices. The set menu is also a good option. One of my favourite places to eat. Service is always good and efficient with friendly staff. I also got married here, and had an amazing experience. Booking was very simple and stress free, as was sorting out all the details. All the staff wanted to make sure that the day went as smoothly as possible.

This hotel hosted our wedding, and catered for our guests who were staying at the hotel as well. My husband and I can't recommend this hotel enough, everything right down to the smallest detail it was perfect. Our guests were amazed by the service and quality of care taken, the food was delicious and plenty of it . We would like to thank Bruce, John, Stephanie, Jenny and all the staff, you were all professional, polite and good humoured. Many thanks Phillip & Ange Green

The Barnes is in a nice location about 10 mins from junction 11 of the M6. It is a well maintained bar / restaurant with the option of a hotel if desired. I attended the New Year event with family. The overall evening is run quite well, food is tasty if the portions are a little large! The bar is a good price and well stocked. Staff are friendly and appear to be a nice team who work well together. The DJ was a little hit and miss and frequently managed to clear the floor on several occasions despite previously having the whole room up dancing! For a reasonably priced event it is a good option for New Year.

Spent New Year's Eve at the Barnes for the first time in several years. The renovation work in the event suite has been completed to a lovely standard. The night itself was nice, the food was a good standard however there was far to much of it! For the cost of the evening it was a nice event.

Usually average, occasionally a little better. Good for those that like football in a no frills gastro-pub style environment. Decor is dated, and ambience is flat. Okay but limited outdoor seating in the summer. Sometimes hygenie is poor, with cutlery having to be returned and replaced - sometimes service is poor sometimes it's just okay. Vegetarian options are often bland as it the uninspiring selection of real ales, which are often served in the wrong glass - any drink other than Guinness served in a Guinness glass is a crime. Could be a lot better - and it has been - but needs to improve and regain an identity.
