My husband and I had our wedding at The Barn in September 2021 and the venue was truly magical. We had the most memorable day; one we will never forget. We instantly loved the venue when viewing photos online, and when we viewed the venue for the first time in February 2019 alongside Philippe, who was so welcoming, we booked the venue straight away without wanting to see any other venues. Our wedding was originally scheduled to take place in April 2020, but due to COVID it was pushed back several times. Luckily, after waiting 18 months, we finally tied the knot in September 2021. Janet was absolutely amazing throughout and was always there to answer our questions. It took us five attempts, but we got there in the end, and Janet could not have been more accommodating. The Barn is such a beautiful venue and perfect for the 64 daytime guests we had. It was intimate, especially the ceremony, which is exactly what we wanted. Phillipe and the rest of the team decorated the venue so beautifully; it was honestly better that we could have ever imagined. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and this made the day run smoothly. The food was amazing; from the canapes, to the sit-down meal and then the evening buffet. They also have so many wonderful additions that you can include in your package and we opted for the sweet cart, which everyone loved, and even made use of The Barn's "Mr & Mrs" canvas and easel for our welcome sign. The venue is in a fantastic location, with great transport links and a beautiful park across the road, which is where we had our gorgeous wedding photos taken. The Barn provide a list of outstanding wedding suppliers, which was a great help when planning our wedding as we didn't really know where to begin. We were fortunate enough to work with some of their recommended suppliers; Helen England as our photographer, Cut Above Productions as our videographer, Colonnade Florist and Luke Swift as our DJ. All are AMAZING and we would highly recommend each of their services. We cannot recommend The Barn highly enough. It is the perfect wedding venue and all our guests adored the venue. Janet and Phillipe, from the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank you enough! We will certainly be returning each year for food and drinks, and to reminiscence our special day. Wow what a great find, 5 mins from train station, great food , reasonably priced. Good size portions & very good value for money We sat in the conservatory overlooking well maintained pub garden full of flowers. Would highly recommend this place.
Wonderful staff and evening, the food was delicious. Although I hated the fact the fajita came with tons of mushrooms baked right in, : would have been great to have a fresh, zingy salsa or tomato avocado accompaniment to the oily blend of mushroom and pepper, as I had to pick out the mushroom it was just endless peppers in a wrap Besides that it really was a nice meal altogether but I wouldn’t order fajitas again. Bruschetta was delicious but really needed to be a little bigger Environment is wonderful and very pretty entrance
Had my wedding here in this beautiful venue. Honestly couldn't have had a better day, everything was set out perfectly, the staff were highly professional and lovely. Any questions we had they answered. The decorations and table layout was spot on. I can't recommend this venue enough if you are looking for somewhere to have your wedding. The garden area provides a beautiful landscape to take pictures with loved ones through the rustic background. Was the best day and night of my life. The food was delicious and everything was fairly priced. The owner was very professional and precise when helping us organise everything through menu selection, table layout and seating to how we wanted the decorations set up. 100% recommend this venue
My visit was because of a wedding package. Its a lovely, intimate venue that is accommadating and friendly. The food was perfect and the choices extensive. We were allowed our dogs and ultimately that's what we were looking for.Food: 5/5
Pleasant restaurant with a varied menu to cater for all palettes consisting of steak, burger, and other traditional pub dishes as well as nice fish dishes along with vegetarian options... The staff were lovely and attentive, and is always a nice pub to have a drink whilst being in a nice relaxed atmosphere... They have a nice outdoor space which gets very busy during the course of the evening... Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available... Kid-friendliness: Family friendly...
Positively surprised with how cosy and nice this place is, even though it's right next to the train station. The upstairs restaurant has a great atmosphere, food is great. Downstairs bar and bear gardens with outside seating. Thumbs up for this one.
Invited to the 1992 menu evening and it was outstanding. Arrived early for cocktails, Vodka jellies and cheese board which were great. The 2 barman were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The dinner was fantastic and we would love to come back. The waiter was friendly and made a real difference.
My girlfriend and I went out for a romantic meal and we were served by a very polite, welcoming young lady who went above and beyond to make our experience special. My partner and I have both been in hospitality for 15+ years and were extremely impressed by both the service and fantastic meals offered at a very fair price in a lovely warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We got married at the Barn one year ago and had the most special day. The team are amazing and I cannot recommend getting married here highly enough. A year on, last week we returned for our first wedding anniversary. We were placed at a table near the fire and Philippe came out and congratulated us. We enjoyed a delicious meal and had a wonderful evening remembering our day. The icing on cake was that at the end of the meal, they said that the meal was on them as it was our 1st anniversary. You won't get that service anywhere else. Thank you to Philippe and your incredible team, your restaurant will always have a very special place in our hearts.
