Accrington Town Hall is Grade 2-listed building with impressive ballroom & huge calendar of theatre productions, shows, pantos, dance events & classes

Story

The Town Hall is situated in the heart of Accrington Town Centre adjacent to the Market Hall. The building plays host to all the Civic events during the year including the annual ‘Mayor Making’ ceremony, Mayor's Ball and Mayoral charity functions.

Annual Festivals taking place include ‘The Lancashire Food Festival’ every April and in July a month dedicated to dance which includes an evening of Strictly Dancing.

Accrington Town Hall has an impressive Ballroom which is ideal for sequence/line dancing, wedding functions, social events, conferences, charity events, orchestra concerts and much more.

It is available for hire by all businesses, individuals, charity groups and voluntary organisations. The room has a capacity of up to 350 depending on type and layout of event.

There are other rooms available for meetings, seminars and training and can cater from 2 to 60 people.

We recently set up at Accrington Town Hall, and it was a fantastic experience. As a listed building, it has a great vibe—the balcony and grand architecture provide a beautiful backdrop for any event.nnThere was plenty of space for our LKEvents soft play, bouncy castle, and ball pit. We also made great use of the stage for our balloon decor, which really stood out in the large room. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful during our setup. We can't wait to be back

Good place to hold a concert, came to watch the Lancashire Fusiliers concert band and Guests and it was excellent. The acoustics and the architecture of the room made it sound better and gave it a good atmosphere . As it was a charity event it could have done with more bums on seats but everyone who attended was treated to an excellent performance from very professional musicians who put their hearts  and soul in to it and deserved all the applause  they got. Looking forward to seeing them again.

The centre of Accrington is  a delight with  classical  Victorian  architecture  of the town hall and the nearby Market Hall dominating the Square.  The Town Hall which was originally  the Sir Robert Peel assembly rooms  became  the Town Hall in the 1870's when the impressive mosaic floor  was introduced. We rarely notice what is beneath  our feet, but it's certainly  worth a look down as you enter and marvel at the intricacy of  the work and design of the impressive floor.

Lovely venue, but do not order hot food at an event there! 2 dance events this weekend and on both days, any hot drinks or food took an incredibly long time. They said they had a lot of orders, but in the hour I was waiting, I didn't see a lot of people ordering, nor much food coming out. One lady waited 20 minutes for 2 cups of tea and when they came, 1 was hot and the other was warm! Everyone was complaining and the poor fella at the till took most of the flack. Eventually, after 45 minutes, the boss did fix my problem, but the whole system was very wrong and lots of parents and teachers missed out. When my child's 1 portion of chips came they were awful and my child left them as they were so unevenly done thin fries in an airfryer not rotated. I got a refund, thankfully, so leaving them wasnt a problem, I just wasted a lot of time and missed a lot of dances. I hope they fix this, because they could have had a good income from food.

A beautiful hall on first viewing, the entrance hall and rooms off from it looked immaculately clean and fit for business usage.nThe staff were wonderful and helped me access the lift up to the dance hall on the second floor. The staff catered for tea and coffee and also a wonderful lunch was put on for us.nOur purpose there today was to help give help to hoarders from hoarders. We had a group upwards of 60 over 9 tables and we were comfortable and well looked after.nNearby parking at the Arndale was £1 for the day.nPersonal highlight for me was the huge mural  about the Accrington Pals. We will remember them, and I will remember today.
