Cosy and friendly place with excellent service. My wife and I had a very pleasant lunch here and took plenty of pies and tarts away to see us through the following days.

Lovely honest cafe. Tried the iced and traditional tarts and both were lovely. The sandwiches were huge and I probably shouldn't have had one before embarking on the tart. I've wanted to come here for 5 years and it was worth the drive.

Service was good but had issues with the price and the quality. Could not believe how poor the Bakewell tart was from its birthplace. Icing was thick and hard and would have been more suited to a wedding cake. The filling was congealed and slimy. We both left it as inedible. Two slices of this 'delicacy' and two coffees cost £15, and the prices were not clearly displayed to inform your choice. Poor experience, and I related my complaint to the staff - oh, shrug.

My wife and I have just had the best full english breakfast and coffee we've had  for a long time. Great price and service.
