Story

The Bakehouse Cafe & Wine Bar welcomes you into a beautiful setting where old world and original features meet with a modern industrial twist. We pride ourselves as an independent enterprise that offers quality with the ability to be unique. The dishes are all freshly prepared in house and the ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible, helping to support the local community. Monday-Saturday the Cafe offers wonderful Modbury roasted ’Owens’ coffee alongside daily changing exciting specials and a great menu. We are now open for a Pizza night every Wednesday, serving homemade, authentic Italian thin style crust and delicious toppings. Takeaways too! Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening we open the Winebar Restaurant serving cocktails & craft beers alongside an extensive wine list from Ottery Christopher Piper Wines. These sit wonderfully with our fantastic Tapas menu, for a casual dining experience, or creative mains which change weekly for more special occasions! The business has recently undergone a much needed extension which seats an extra 25 people in a beautiful new Dining Room with a high wooden beamed ceiling, red brick and a cosy woodburner! Used throughout the day and night and available for functions or large parties. So for any occasion, be it coffee and cake or a special treat come and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy quality food with great service.
