The place was very clean inside. The staff were friendly upon entry and the slow service delivery. We went for coffee and cake in the afternoon. There were a number of options available here specifically for vegan and/or gluten free even both! patrons. We ordered a Cinnamon Swirl, Fruit Scone and a slice of chocolate cake which is paid for at the counter. Drinks were a tea, iced coffee and soda. The outside options were very comfortable including sunny or shady places. Our outside table was not cleaned and a few empty tables were left uncleared attracting a number of wasps. The food items were all unquestionably good but were all overpriced certainly in comparison to many other similar places. The same applies to the drinks and especially sugar free soda at over £3 a tin. I certainly didn't care for the iced coffee which was essentially coffee with ice...I was expecting something made from milk or with ice cream added however I will concede that some places apparently make it plain Jane style. Overall, the setting was pleasant and relaxing with decent outside views anything outside needed better clearing service. The staff were friendly although service especially outside was slow. The food served was tasty. However, I can get that at many other places and not feel taken advantage of when it comes to leaving the till in comparison to similar operations. It was good but I certainly wouldn't rush back. Vegetarian options: There were a number of delicious sounding Vegan a options available. Kid-friendliness: Open outdoor space and seating area and spacious interior Parking: A number of free spaces outside and very close by in the attached parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor area accessed via a gravel pathway. I think the interior shop had a low step and a sill. Dietary restrictions: A number of vegan and probably vegetarian options along with gluten free options too.
We’ve been coming to the Bakehouse for a few years now and always enjoy the lovely cakes, treats and drinks. When it came to our wedding and looking for a wedding cake we knew we had to ask Bakehouse if they could help us out as this wasn’t something that was advertised and without hesitation the lovely Sam met with us to discuss our ideas. The Bakehouse team are always so lovely and the cake Sam made for us in her own time was amazing. We had a delicious 4 tier cake made up of Victoria sponge, chocolate and red velvet which all guests loved too. 100% would recommend - for a wedding cake or a nice treat in the gardens when the sun is out. Thank you so much
Booked for the annual Christmas evening around the fire pit with a tipsy Snowman. Such a wonderful place, family friendly and I highly recommend the Halloumi strips, may be the best thing I've ever tasted! Honestly can't tell you how lovely it is. Make sure to wrap up warm as it is outside. Food: 5/5
I have been meaning to pop to The BakeHouse for a while and it was as comforting and delicious as I had expected! The interior is stunning, set off of a main road it is in a quiet location. We were greeted with a smile and given the option to pick where to sit, which personally I love. The menu was great and all vegan and gluten free options were included on one menu. Food and drinks came out promptly and there was nothing that I could fault at all. The gluten free bread which they toasted was the best I have ever tried! We couldn't leave without trying some of their beautiful sweet treats which are all made in house. Again, they had a great variety of gluten free options. After this mornings visit we can't wait to come back to try lunch and dinner
Went for brunch here with my mum and it was just lovely. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, fast service, friendly staff, plenty of seating. Will definitively be returning again, such a nice little place for breakfast/lunch.
Disappointing on this occasion. Usually impressed but not been here recently. Attitude of staff varied from excellent to brusque and unwelcoming. The drinks were expensive £4.10 for a large cappuccino which wasn't, no froth and luke warm. The Americano was bland. Food portions were generous but the pulled pork was very dry. They do offer gluten free bread which we really do appreciate but it was tasteless. Like others have commented the prices generally are expensive.
Large gastro pub not far from the campsite we were staying at in early January. Great to see vegan milkshakes on the menu but given this, was surprised to see so few vegan options on the food menu; only vegan choice was soup of the day. When it came out it was broccoli and Stilton! The waiter quickly substituted for tomato soup. We did find out that the veggie chickpea curry and hummus sandwich were also vegan though only marked as veggie on the menu. Staff very friendly. We also came here on Christmas Eve for drinks and s’mores outside with the fire pit and patio heaters. This was a great idea and again the staff were super helpful and were running things like clockwork.
Outdoor setting was brilliant and the fire pita great addition to the buzz and atmosphere of the place. The food was FANTASTIC! It was super busy and after visiting now know why. Thoroughly recommend.
Sitting round the fire melting marshmallows in the cold was just lovely. Food was good also. I would recommend the Baileys hot chocolate, it hits all the right spots
Been to the bakehouse a few times and it's been at an okay standard! However my recent visit was very disappointing. Spent £7 on a strawberry milkshake.. which was literally just nesquick.. the sweet potato curry was incredibly dry and my partners pulled pork was also dry. Cake selection for a place called the bakehouse was also not great.. they all looked a bit dry and in the past when I've got them they have not tasted great
