In this quiet corner of England, it's said that the gunpowder plot was hatched in the half-timbered chamber in the house next to the church. The house belonged to the Catesby family and the church includes memorials to them. The church includes wall paintings, a kneeler monument, some fine later wall memorials, a Jacobean pulpit among other features of interest. There is free on-street parking in this picturesque village.

l just love this village with it's chocolate box houses, it's so pretty, and the church has some wonderful medieval wall paintings. l've been here several times and will certainly visit again.

The name, The Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Leodegarius Church has to be one of the longest. Sunday Services. Centrally sited pulpit. No toilets. On-street car parking. Four bells, ground floor ring area.
