An amazing old fashioned pub with pool table, dart board and juke box just a short walk from Saffron Walden Common. We went for New Year's Eve, when many other local pubs were closed. No entrance fee and the drinks were the usual price, not hiked up like other pubs we've been to for NYE. They even put on a free buffet! A fabulous little pub, let down by the fact there's only one ladies loo. Returned in February for a drink with friends. Great atmosphere, even without the celebratory new year and live music. The resident dog is a sweetheart who greets patrons enthusiastically in the hope they will play a very specific game with him. So lovely to find a dog friendly place to spend the evening.
Lovely little pub in Saffron walden that actually has pool table and good selection of well priced drinks. The land lady deb is a lovely lady too
We used this pub for my brothers wake so the booking was done by his partner. Great choice as they did us proud, with both the buffet and service throughout our time there. A big thank to Debs and her staff ,you have a great pub. I hope that Saffron Waldren also knows it as it's a gem. Nearly forgot the dog TJ who can forget him.
This is a lovely little pub, the people are welcoming and friendly. The resident dog is brilliant and on Sunday they even put snacks out on the side. They've got a play area outside for when it's warmer and plenty of seating.
Good friendly pub.
Whilst passing through Saffron Walden I went in for a pint of cider and was given complementary roast potatoes and a cheese platter. The pub and it's owners were exceedingly welcoming and as a result I would highly recommend!

Best pub in all of Saffron Walden. The weatherspoons is filled with millennial liberals and beta males. Weatherspoons cannot compete.
Best pub in Saffron Walden. Great selection of beers and ales at the bar. Jukebox , pool table and darts. Everything you need in a pub. Don't walk into town and go here , great atmosphere.
Landlady was very pleasant and inviting.. Pores a lovely pint of giness on draft.
