Took.my daughter there for a couple of hours during our trip to Southport. It's a mix use building run by the Sefton council and houses a museum (small but with surprising contents), art gallery, and also runs theatre shows. We went to the museum bit that was free (they had a special exhibition on the Vikings for which there was a small charge but we didn't have time). It houses various artefacts from Egypt and a mummy (something we didn't expect to find here. You could also learn about the history of the area and much more. It's a good place to look around if you are visiting for longer and perhaps checkout their website to see if there is any shows on so that you could plan ahead. The building itself was gorgeous too.

Good place to visit. Go see the Viking exhibition that is on right now it is very good.

Fantastic resource for the town. I have used it for many different reasons: from the tables outside for tutoring sessions (can get a little cold there with the door but no complaints!); to the library itself (careful, their opening hours are different); the theatre and the art galleries and museum. A stunning refurbishment and worth the wait.

Good complex for all. Gift shop , cafe and information on ground floor. Egypt exhibixtion and history of Sefton on top floor. This includes 3 free trails with sheets to complete and lots of interactive displays and dress up areas. Art Gallery for quiet time .

Fabulous nights entertainment. Plenty of space as we sat down stairs in the studio, so therefore had a table. Bar well manned so didn't wait long to be served.
