The Athenian
"Our little owl has flown since 2014; growing from a humble market stall to a small network of locations in next to no time. Deliveroo Restaurant of the Year 2020. All thanks to our loyal customers and team of Athenians, led by Tim Vasilakis. From that very first day on the market stall it’s always been about food, the Athenian way. Nothing but the best ingredients, freshly and lovingly made to order right there in front of you, for a big hit of taste and flavour. Souvlaki, gyros and plant based alternatives. We source everything from our partners in Greece and here in the UK, so we know where every single ingredient comes from. No cut corners, no compromises."

We bought a meal deal for two people. You have to order in one of the machines and then you wait for your food. The menu was clear, had enough information, the price was accessible I think it was £22, the service was fast and polite, and the food was tasty. It was our first time trying Greek food and we liked it. We ate a gyro. I recommend the place and would eat there again.
got the vegan wrap. ordering process is straightforward and easy, wrap was very tasty and the meal deal which includes drink & a side was £10. chips were delicious - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. would definitely recommend for a quick grab and go option.
Located near many other restaurants and cafes this bakery/restaurants is easily accessible via Victoria train and bus station. Their bakery is constantly busy and the queue might even get to cover the pavement outside. The wait for the restaurant in a weekend can be up to 30min for two people. Food is mainly Middle Eastern/Greek. Great breads and desserts. They have vegan options too! Good coffee and teas.
Great food! Amazing location to eat at while waiting for coaches! Reasonable prices! And amazing presentation of food. Authentic food and the employees were so nice!Food: 5/5
Nice bit of quick food. Only go there for a quick snack by yourself or with just one other person, if you want to sit down to eat, as there were only four chairs inside. They have a 2 wraps, 1 side and 2 dronks for £20 which i think was very good value. Halloumi fries were really solid and went well with their spicu feta sauce. Vegetarian options: You could get halloumi or two different vegan choices
The vegan gyros was a delicious treat, can get a bit messy but it's worth it, the oregano fries were good and a generous portion. Ordering and service is very nice and quick. Very convenient as right next to the coach station. I'll be coming back again.Food: 4/5
A great taste of Greece with delicious gyros. Quick takeaway oriented restaurant that captures the essence and taste of chicken wraps. They have traditional sauces like smoked aubergine too. The staff are efficient and Covid measures seem adequate. It is a small shop so I would mainly consider takeaway or a really quick eat and go if it is empty. Overall, I'm giving 4 stars because it was slightly too salty for me and needed a lot of water after.
I have been once before and it was fantastic. So I went again and for almost 10£ their gyro was so disappointing. Barely any meat, just fries and salad. Barely any sauce in there even if you select the sauce...it is really a shame because the first I tried it, it was really good!Food: 2/5
Super fast service, super tasty food and great portions. Would have loved to have a tiny bit more salad with my halloumi cheese hehe, but that's a minor detail compared to the delicioussss flavor of the whole plate. Thanks team!
Last year my friend and I traveled to Athens and have been looking for something that can come close to the Greek food we had there but we have yet to find something like that in London. I visited this branch of Athenian on the 8th of March with a friend. We only ordered 2 meals but from those two meals receipt attached we don't believe it was value for money unfortunately. The canned drinks were very nice. The sour cherry is very nice and I would 100% recommend trying it! The food however was relatively cold and not serve hot at all. We ate inside the little restaurant/takeaway so there should have been no reason why the food felt like it was colder than it should have been. The only saving grave was the deserts. The deserts being a home cooked flour-less brownie and a Greek chocolate bar. The chocolate bar was both of our favorite thing from there which is saying a lot... There was not a lot of interaction with the staff but they seemed friendly enough. The table by the door however is where we sat and there was a little problem in that seating area as when ever someone entered or opened the door, the connecting table would shake making for an uncomfortable experience but not a huge deal. Honestly, that seems like a bad design more than anything. Also the wooden table/top was sticky, which make me think that it had not been wiped for a while. Unfortunately, the combination of this is why I had to give this location a 2 star. I will hopefully in the future be trying another branch just to see if this is consistent in all branches or just this one and hopefully find some food in London that reminds us of the Greek food we fell in love with in Athens.
