I feel I need to re-write my review of this place. Went there with my wife for a bite and a couple of drinks. The place was fairly busy, but the service was swift, and the food was fantastic. I had the prawn and chorizo gumbo which was very generous with the prawn, and my wife had ribs which she enjoyed. If you eat in the restaurant, there is table serving. Shared starter baked Camembert, mains, desserts, and a couple of drinks came to £67.
Went last night to celebrate my dad who passed away last year. Didn't really know what to expect but was absolutely blown away. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. Good sized portions and fairly priced too. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit and will be going again as soon as I can. *****
Went to the Anchor today with friends,food such good value and I thought I served generous portions but seems the chef there does too! Service there was superb, give it a try you wont regret it
Four of us had very enjoyable lunch. Couldn't fault it. 2nd time here will be back again. We had 2 portions of mini ribs, duck, & fish & chips, be back again soon.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat, skip this pub. Very below par food. Portion size is not great and the food quality is very poor. Seems to be a complete lack of care in the kitchen.
