A Greene King pub and might be the best I've been to! Great outdoor seating and greater inside! This old building is really sensational, with different rooms to match different moods. You can find your typical Greene King food and drinks menu here. If you're nearby looking for a pit stop or you want to experience a unique pub, this a place you should try!
Woefully understaffed. Food was AMAZING! But was a real hassle to get it. Ordered at the bar, and was told the table we were on was reserved no sign and they couldn’t process the order until we found one that wasn’t no sign… so after going up two floors we found a staff member who was like “yeah, just anywhere without a reserved sign” Anyway, finally found another table and tried to order but there was no table number. Wandered around the very busy place just trying to find one with a number and hoping that no reserved sign actually meant it wasn’t reserved. Finally found one and ordered and the people next to us were waiting for table service they were told they would get when they booked in, but that’s apparently not a thing, so they were also pretty disgruntled… The table opposite has a reserved sign for 4pm on it. It is now 7:30pm… The service we did get was not bad, but very rushed. We have only seen the server who gave us our food the entire time we’ve been here. Seems this place is just woefully understaffed, which is unfortunate because the food is actually incredible! Would recommend, but go when they hire more staff for prime time during a London Festival rather than less… Vegetarian options: Good : Foos was excellent. Good range too
We had dinner at the Anchor Bankside Pub during our visit to London this summer. The food was typical English pub fair, and I was surprised that there was no waiter / waitress to serve our table, rather after being seated and deciding what we wanted we had to leave our table and go downstairs to place our order with the bar. That said the staff were friendly and our meals were brought to us at our table a short while later. We were fortunate enough to be able to watch England win the semi-final match, so the pub had an exciting energy! All in all it was a memorable experience.
With over 800 years of history, fantastic meals, a wonderfully welcoming team, and an incredibly spacious interior, Anchor Bankside is one of our favorite pubs in London. We’ve had many amazing memories here - enjoying a pint outside and the delicious Sunday Roast! The Sirloin of Beef Sunday Roast is outstanding. The cheesy cauliflower is delicious. The gravy is legendary. It’s practically its own food group. We highly recommend visiting when they open on Sundays at 11am since there is a ton of space and 0 crowds. Thank you to the amazing team at Anchor Bankside! The pub is beautiful and the food is delicious. We will definitely be back again!
Checked out the Anchor Bankside today while exploring South Bank and Borough Market! It was definitely a nice pit stop! The service here was good and the staff was really nice! The food was good, we tried the Cheese Toastie and the Chicken-Bacon Sandwich, and enjoyed both!Food: 4/5
Nice pub with friendly staff. Located near to the Tate modern and Shakespeare's globe. They have a good selection of beers, wine and spirits. Should you want something to eat they also serve a good selection of food and snacks. Sadly the toilets are not so great. The awful smell before you enter them is not great and the toilet I had to use the lock was broken
£5.75 for an orange juice and lemonade. Great views from the outdoor seating area but heaters would have been greatly appreciated. Bustling on a Sunday eveningService: 3/5
Find a table and order at bar with your table number. Good atmosphere. Friendly efficient staff. Food was well presented with good flavours. We tried the soft shell crab burger with fries, battered halloumi, fried squid, and duck hash. All the dishes were delicious. Just disappointed I didn't come and try the food sooner! We will return!
Lovely old fashioned pub inside - Listen out for the rats in the ceiling when you go to the toilet authentic London!. Atmosphere outside on the deck, near the river is really pleasant - la good amount of f seating but you will need to be quick to get that seat and table. They allow dogs on the deck with their owners. The music, ah, the music was great! old reggae like Toots and the Martel's - everyone was boobing!! The downside was the service which was slow, no smile or nice greeting and all drinks came in plastic cups :
Loved this pub. Got a bit of sunshine, sat both inside and outside. Perfect location. The staff were friendly, but they did not let me procrastinate and I felt rushed to find a drink quickly ! Anyway, it is still a lovely pub.. I am looking forward to going back.Service: 3/5
