Food is no longer served at The Amethyst. A cosy pub with a cheerfully noisy atmosphere. BUT they stopped serving food some time ago. We were told they don’t mind if you bring in takeaway from nearby shops.Service: 3/5
We really enjoyed our meal we both had the chicken with haggis stuffing followed by a naughty pudding. The young girl that served us was friendly. The pub itself was nicely decorated and only a ten minute walk from where we were staying. Definately would eat here again if we were in the area. Thank you.

Always a decent pint, good food and a good atmosphere in here! A little gem in govan for a good couple of pints
Recently moved to the local area and decided to pop down about 10pm on a Tuesday with a friend. Was really pleasantly surprised to see around 20 people in a local pub on a Tuesday night with quite a good atmosphere. My friend and I were impressed by good value pints but disappointed that the barmaid called last orders at 10.30pm despite their website showing a closing time of 12am. Undeterred we tried to enjoy our pints but the barmaid started quite quickly to close up, clearing tables is understandable but we found turning lights off and loudly pulling down shutters to be quite uncomfortable. Upon leaving, I tried to ask for clarification for future reference, and was advised that the bar closed at 11pm, despite the information online. A regular did explain that the closing time depends on how many people are in the bar but if 20 patrons aren’t enough for a Tuesday in a residential area I can’t see it ever being open to 12. A nice atmosphere but I’m not sure how comfortable we will be going back.
Had a lovely meal. 6 of us turned up with only 10 minutes before last order's for food, but, that wasn't a problem. Very tasty & filling and no long waits. Friendly & welcoming. Would return if this way again.

A superb facility, with comfortable, warm and welcoming surroundings. Provides an excellent and varied selection of food including a great breakfast option. Great venue for getting together with friends and family. Superb Kareoke and live music reviews. Caters for kids and even dog friendly Definitely a 5 Star experience.
