Wow! I didn't know what to expect but it definitely exceeded it! The food was excellent and unique. Very tasty, decent portion size and a spicy kick! The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service excellent. An all round great experience.

The food was great and we were especially pleased that the menu has a separate Vegan section that groups together all dishes from other parts of the menu that are either naturally vegan or can be adapted to be so. We did have to wait a little while after ordering, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and presume that certain things had to be prepared specially. We did receive pre-starters lentil dumplings and pre-mains a nice intense tomato & coriander soup though which, whether as standard complimentary courses or as a courtesy, were a nice touch and added to a flavour-packed meal. We had the trio of vegetarian street food, followed by stuffed aubergine with lentils, potatoes & veg plus biryani rice & curry on the side and the Dosa, which also comes with the lentil & chickpea curry on the side.

I ordered the baked aubergine flavoured with garlic and it was honestly one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever eaten.  The flavours, presentation and contrasting textures made it a wonderful culinary experience.  The service was excellent, as was the setting.  I highly recommend this restaurant and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

My husband is Vegetarian and has a  number of allergies. He is coeliac, and lactose intolerant, allergic to walnuts and Brazil nuts. The Head Chef at this restaurant was exceptional the way he handled my husbands  food.He is clearly very passionate about his work because he came out and chatted to us about the things he was doing. I really with more places did this where people have allergies which are NOT by choice. Most times when we out there's always a song and dance because the chef dosent  get what an allergy is. This man most certainly does, which is the reason we will return and keep returning because of his passion for his career. The manager was also very good at handling these. Thank you to all involved the meal was exceptional as always.

Utterly fantastic meal! The menu is filled with delicate flavours and interesting pairings, from the small bite starters to the roasts. The peri peri prawns were crispy and spicy, the sea bass roast came with a fragrant curry sauce and the vegetable mackerel lentil bowl was heavenly. Beautiful setting with a light-filled atrium with garden views. This restaurant alone warrants a subsequent visit to Rye.

Loved it! A delicious fusion of regional Indian dishes with new and fresh seasonal market produce. So much more than a curry house, with pleasant spaced, comfortable seating and a light open air conservatory in which to enjoy delicious food, pleasant company and attentive service. Recommended!

Amazing food, Amazing service  Would definitely go back if I visit Rye again, pretty pricy but worth the money for sure, they gave us lovely free starters and free soup between courses, such a wonderful place to spend my last night

Visited this treasure one Sunday lunchtime. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a comfortable table.  We didn’t feel we had the capacity for the delicious-looking roasts, but the choices were varied, ranging between Indian street food, burgers and wraps. We opted for the burgers and wraps and they were absolutely delicious. I had the pulled pork heavenly, another chose the tandoori chicken fillet burger and one had the chicken wrap. They were all served with scrumptious onion rings, beautifully cooked wedges and yummy coleslaw with a spicy twist. Drinks orders were taken quickly and served promptly.  In summary: The space was light and the atmosphere relaxed. The staff were warm, attentive and very helpful. Cost very reasonably and the food superb!  We were extremely happy with our visit to The Ambrette Kitchen and will definitely visit again.

This was a real find! We love Asian food but not the normal ‘cooked for the British palette’ kind. The menu was not vast meaning that the dishes available were beautifully prepared and presented and tasted incredible. The restaurant is comfortable and light and airy; the service was outstanding and we really enjoyed four evening. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to all our friends. Thank you for an outstanding experience.

Amazing flavours, excellent service, very good value for money.  I went to this restaurant on Saturday night without booking and i have been very surprised.Quality food and very tasty cocktails .Awesome service, the girl i believe is a owner or manager asked me about allergies, how was my food,offered me to choose a table which i like. Also, i had a chance to thank the chefs, they do have a open kitchen so you can see how all the process work. Incredibly warm welcome on Saturday busy night even they were fully booked.
