My daughter and I came here on Saturday 21st May to get a selection of cheeses to have as part of our long weekend away. The lady in the shop was fabulous and very helpful and knowledgable about the cheeses. We bought 5 different ones along with some lovely thin crackers. The cheeses were superb !!! We did sing along to the " cheese song " !
Lots of local and international cheeses to choose from. Very generous portions & great service from 2 lovely ladies.
Lovely little place to grab some food and also they have lots of local produce that you can buy for yourself or as a gift. We had a sharing cheeseboard and it was lovely, it was £25 for 2 people and included a bottle of wine. Very friendly staff too.
We called in at lunchtime today for a sandwich and coffee. We were the only customers. We were made really welcome and both the ladies we lovely and friendly. The sandwiches were made fresh and were very tasty -everything was perfect. They stock loads of different cheeses and some lovely local products - fancied the cinder toffee biscuits but didn’t think they would get home unopened A real hidden gem - thanks ladies for a lovely lunch.
What a little hidden gem The Cheese Room is, just had lunch there tried the Brie and crispy bacon sandwich it was beautiful and the selection of cheeses amazing ! Hard to decide which ones to pick. Staff so helpful. Thank you
Fab cheese board & yummy strawberry jam & clotted cream scone with decaf tea & a lovely hot coffee. Lady was so nice & helped to select cheese which she was very knowledgeable about. A lovely end to a day out. Thank you.
Had lovely cream teas. Small scone but was absolutely lovely. Really enjoyed it. Smells of cheese but as its name suggests they sell lots of different cheeses, pickles and jams.
One of the most disappointing lunches we have had in a long time, complete waste of money. Considering what fantastic stock they have for sale, it is a lot different to what gets put on your plate if you have a sit down meal. Suspect the ingredients come from a cheap supermarket. The rest of the crisps which should have accompanied my sandwich, we’re ate by the sandwich maker. Won’t see us again.
For the serious cheese lover and the novice alike. The proprietor is a lovely lady, very knowledgeable and keen to guide you on your cheese choices. The shop has a wide variety of cheeses from around the world as well as the best of British. The shop is also a great place for a coffee or a light lunch.
Great for cheese and delighted to see a nativity scene on display in the window. Well done!!!! Also they have a very warm and welcoming staff. Top noch!!! I received a hamper from the cheese room last Christmas. It was a present from my family who were visiting Alnwick. If your looking for Christmas Cheese Room!
