Very pleasant pub. Main meal of gammon steak good without being outstanding but the pizza was excellent. Could have done with a few more chips and eggs weren't cooked that well or presented well either. Desserts were lovely. Staff seemed a bit thin on the ground but nice
Went to The Akeman for Sunday lunch and we both had the beef. It’s was perfection. Beef was pink and juicy, most amazing Yorkshire’s, moreish roast potatoes and deep rich gravy. Highly recommend. One of the best we’ve had and we’ve had a lot!
Our waitress was nothing less than spectacular; she was warm, welcoming and incredibly kind and generous; it was my Aunties Birthday and Marisa our waitress gave her a card and wrote a birthday wish in my Aunties plate without us asking. It was incredibly touching, and we can’t wait to go again! Marisa, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!
We visited the restaurant after making a reservation and asking if they offered vegetarian options. Upon arrival, it turned out the dish I had chosen was out of stock. The chef modified the dish, but ultimately, I didn't receive the sauce. The staff, however, asked if everything was OK and I did receive the sauce. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again; it's too stressful for a Sunday dinner.
What a lovely place. Welcoming, beautifuly decorated with a pretty garden sitting area. The staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We loved the celebration party we had there.
