Been shopping regularly at this store since it opened years ago and the service there has gone downhill so badly. The last two times I have bought from the cigarettes counter, the staff were busy on their mobiles and barely acknowledged me. Secondly, they now charge you £1.50 for a trolley token, which you need as they never have any baskets handy! The stock has also gone downhill and the staff all look and seem really depressed and bored. Also, they change their shelves around almost weekly so you can never find anything! Worst Tescos around
Visited cafe today, Such a rude young girl when I asked for hot water for my coffee.nStaff were very busy so coffee had gone cold before food arrived.nAlways enjoy the food
Went to Tesco's Pontypool today, staff have a terrible attitude. On the self service the staff member when asked politely refused to take off a security tag from an inexpensive hand held blender, until I put it through the scanner, which I did immediately. They then refused again until I had paid by card for it. Consequently, I had to wait as they were busy checking on other customers. Is there no trust at all from Tesco's towards their customers ??.nI was shocked I've always found local people extremely trustworthy. Aldi's all the way for me now.
In case you haven't noticed Tesco's have refurbished and extended the cafe at Pontypool. We risked a flat white and a muffin. Coffee came from an automated machine but was ok. Not many places in Pontypool for decent coffee.
Generic tesco not the largest but still good selection. Must have tesco card otherwise you will not get discount. Good food and cafe
