We have been gorcery shopping at this Tesco for more than four years now. It has always been fairly well stocked and the staff are quite helpful and hard-working and keeping up with the restocks and upkeep. Like any mid-range supermarket brands, the prices are decent and the variety of products more than sufficient for the average grocery shopping. The location is also good, with plenty of other stores around, to augment your shopping basket. It is maintained fairly clean and organised. Opening times are more than decent and allow either for easy weekend shopping or a weekday after work quick top-up. Shopping carts are usually quite difficult to find in the weekend. What keeps this store from taking the leap from "very good" to "excellent" is the area. Many of the entitled local customers are lacking any sort of decorum or civilised behaviour, leaving a mess behind them and lacking any sense of responsibility. No wonder everything has to be packed in plastic, even the fresh produce - people touch, throw, drop or push all the products, without regard to wastage or damage.
I’m going to review the features within this store and then give my final review. Starting with: Customer Service: The customer service in this store is okay, its not outstanding nor is there anything special to rave about – it’s just alright. The members of staff are easy going and I personally have never had any issues with them nor seen customers at odds with them either. Size/Services: To say there are a handful of services within this store would be an understatement. As you can see from my pictures, the store is expansive and VAST. There SO many services and features within this Tesco, that trying to name them and go through them all individually would make for a long list, but I can mention that they do have: a post/mailbox, customer services section, news and mags, technology and gaming section, clothes, bakery, etc. As you can see from my pictures, the store is massive as it also has over 20 isles worth of merchandise. This is fitting considering that this Tesco is the largest supermarket within Catford, thus making it the hotspot “one-stop-shop”. Queues: Despite the size of the store and how busy it gets during the peak hours, the members of staff working by the self-service checkouts generally do a good job of keeping the queues moving really well. There are a lot of manned tills within the store as well, so customers are generally spoilt for choice between choosing either the tills out self-checkout because either one is just as fast. Hygiene:  The store is consistently clean which in this case is an impressive feat especially when you take the size of the store into consideration. Hats off and much respect to the cleaners because they do a good job of keeping the store looking clean and well looked after. Summary Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about this store because it deserves the praises I have given. I can’t think of anything negative I have to say about the store off the top of my head nor from past experiences shopping there. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking to do their grocery shopping in Catford.
Terrible experience and I’ve been going to Tesco for years now. Had one of the staff on a busy day stand behind me watching me like a hawk because she assumed I wouldn’t pay for a bag and went as far as going across me to scan the bag just because I paused to look at my phone to transfer funds over before continuing. Even before that she refused to give me a bag and attempted to force me to use one of the smaller self checkouts, which wouldn’t be suitable for me. Meanwhile people are asking for assistance but she’s too busy accosting me getting in my face because I told her I didn’t appreciate what she had done and how she went about it - even went as far as shouting at me after I told her to go away and not talk to me and tried to force me to listen to her and because I told her to leave me alone that didn’t want to hear anything she had to say she then sticks her finger in my face and tells ME not to talk to her, like I wanted to talk to her in the first place. She came into my space - I don’t play that. She needs to fix up and should really think about how she can better approach customers, however the manager Jason was nice and I really do hope he does indeed speak with her and she learns from this because I would hate for her to do it to the wrong person.
ok im litro 14 and the security guy approached me and he shouted so loud is it you then looked at a worker is it her that is eating the food it was actually embarrassing idk what his name was but hes somalian i think he shouldnt be approaching kids like that idek what he was on about
I am a regular frequent customer who attends tesco every day with my children or sometimes in my own , I was accused of stealing a bottle of ribeana that had water in it by a colleague member on self check out that just assumed I stolen because I had a drink in my pocket , I know that policy should be that if u physically see someone take something of the shelf or acting suspicious around something and have probable reason to question then fine ask if stolen but she didn't see me acting strange or anything, multiple people walk into shops with items that didn't come from the shop its self I don't think that she should just go around accusing anyone and everyone just on a accusation and should have probable cause for I think the manager should give these members of staff proper training to be able to access a situation correctly before pursuing it as they can't just be accusing anyone for stealing they hire security for a reason I think this store should be improved and corrected for there mistakes I don't think it's acceptable kind regards kelsey
I’ve been hyping this branch up to everyone I know because it’s got an amazing range of world food products. I love Dragon stout, Nigerian Guinness and so many of their Caribbean and Asian seasoning options - the stuff I got here made my day area gets a few people living rough so there’s a chance you might meet one or two but seems safe and positive atmosphere overall.
As for variety, theirs nothing much for a organic range, all I could find was apples, and bananas...ice-cream, nothing, but the ice Lollys, are lush, for the size of the supermarket you would expect a better variety...tad bit on offer for vegans
Such worst behaviour from the Customer Service Department and the security. Treating like dogs and chasing us out of the store. After paying for the groceries, we insisted on the refund due to their behaviour. A person stating that she’s the manager has zero respect for customers, no wonder how her staffs should behave.
Straight from the 1980s, Tesco seemingly does not care about this store, or the population of Catford. Its not the worst shop, but so far from the best. No parking
Popped in here last week to pick up a few bits. Very spacious store. Very quiet too! I only have one little criticism as we were looking for bolognaise sauce and looked in the "sauces" aisle only to find that it was not there at all! Maybe this Tesco store should change that as it can confuse the customers. Instead we found it in another aisle. Other than that good store.
