Over the years it’s been a decent station, aside from when the prices were nearly £2 a litre for diesel thanks to nothing but corporate greed, however I’ve got one glaring concern and another slight complaint.nn1. Multiple times I’ve been asked to pay again as the payment was “ghosted” words of the attendant not me and of course I refused to pay twice as I had already seen the money leave my account. So I had to fill in a form which I didn’t mind basically saying I have to pay it back or be prosecuted. This has happened two or three times and if it happens again I’m refusing again, because I want to make sure my money returns. Their manager however will pester you regardless if the banks haven’t resolved their issue.nn2. Why have 24hr pumps and a brand new pay-at-pump system if you’re going to padlock the bloody things at closing time? Gulf in Rhos/Llandudno is 24/7 and unmanned, why does Tesco have to follow suit? I guess Texaco on London Rd. gets more business though and it’s manned so I can buy food or drink.nnAlso I’ve had numerous experiences where I’ve arrived 10 mins before closing for a quick fuel up ready for the next day and they’ve already started padlocking the pumps again why? They’re 24/7 capable it’s a waste of money upgrading them then disabling them? so naturally they say they’re shut it’s 10:40pm not 11pm so your sign must be wrong then! so I’ve popped to BP instead who, even though they don’t really speak much, never let me down.nnOverall it’s a supermarket petrol station so nothing special, apparently their premium fuel is on-par with Shell V-Power so no use unless you’ve got a car tuned for higher octanes, prices could be better but it’s not the staff’s fault the suppliers are greedy little so-and-so’s.
Altogether there were 8 pump available. Quite busy at holiday and weekend time. Fuel price was ok but price display board was out of order as well as the pump I used for ‘pay at pump’ the printer was not working. Staff was helpful while you pay at checkout.
Good fule prices some of the time
Was in the petrol station this morning at 1000 and charged twice. Not fuel. Was told contactless hadn't worked and to put in the pin. Checked my bank account this evening and the amount of £11.20 debited twice. Cheers for that! Was on my way home to Milton Keynes else I would be there tomorrow to sort it!
Usually more expensive than fuel stations towards Chester and Wrexham. I use those unless I'm desparate. I guess you have to pay for those club card points after all.nStation is fine. Small shop if you can't be bothered going to the tesco nearby.nNeeds to be more competitive for me though.
