Jobsworth worker behind the counter wouldn’t accept my club card barcode on my phone because it was a screenshot from the app the wife had sent me, rather than the actual barcode in the Tesco app. What difference does it make, really. Seemed quite smug about it telling me it was company policy not to accept screenshots. When I said a self service till would accept it, she told me to go use one then if I wanted to use the screenshot.
I went in to use the Car wash , and I mucked up the entry code , butnwas assisted by a very Patient lovely Lady , Thank you .
Dear Senior Management, Teach your staff the meaning of customer services and friendly service. These people are the opposite of what Tesco stands for.nnThis morning at 5.50, I was travelling from Glasgow and heading north. Most of the fuel pumps were closed at 6.50am on Friday. My map showed Tesco as open so with the last bit of fuel I barely made it to the fuel station only to realise they were only serving petrol and closed for Diesel. However I noticed the last isle wasn’t sealed off so I pulled my car there waiting for the pump to open. I saw a staff approach and when asked her what time would the pump open, she told me in 15 mins. I told her I have no fuel left and informed I was going to wait. It was 6am, I’m waiting in the car to max my tank and this lady who I spoke to earlier, probably a manager started opening the padlocks of the pumps at the far end where no one was waiting.nnI went inside to get my coffee and asked the staff at till is there any reason why your colleague is opening all other pumps and not the one where a customer is waiting? She practically shouted at me saying it’s not my job and you can ask her directly. I was confused why she is yelling at a customer first thing in the morning? Should I show my club card to show my loyalty for Tesco? Anyway I decided to approach this other lady openly padlocks and asked her if there’s any logical reason on why you wouldn’t open my pump before the rest? She basically told me because that’s the way she likes it and I shouldn’t be on that pump! I asked her “You have no logical explanation whatsoever to make a customer who has waiting here for the last 15 minutes to wait longer? You could just been polite and opened the pump for me? “ She replied in a condescending tone that that’s how she likes to do things. I was disgusted by this attitude and utter disrespect for a paying customer. This lady was a senior member of a staff and so was the one on tills. If this is how your experienced staff are I wonder how new staffs are being trained. I urge Tesco to start an enquiry on staff behaviour and I am never coming back to that pump again. As a brown person who has never interacted with them before I am wondering are they racist?
There isn't much one can write about a petrol station! It sells petrol and diesel along with a selection of drinks and snacks. The staff are friendly and polite and are helpful if you need to ask them anything. This kiosk sells a few motoring related items that one might want on the go or in an emergency. The price of supermarket fuel is usually cheaper than the big oil companies so I'd recommend this as a place to fuel up.
excellent fuel station can be busy at times but que moves fast . there is also pay at the pump options most major cards accepted and there is a kiosk shop with bread milk cereal and most of the emergency foods required in a hurry . note for drivers they stock a good variety of vehicle things like oil bulbs antifreeze and for those of you who have run out of petrol walked to a garage and discovered they don't sell fuel cans then no worries as cans are sold here and in the big Tesco store nearby and Halfords too .
