It's a big Tesco, so plenty of food plus clothes, pharmacy, lots of personal care products. If you know a Tesco Extra you'll guess the range. Getting out can be awful, not so many checkouts now and the queues for self service can be epic. Petrol station attached. Also best avoided on Saturday afternoons in the football season if there's a Millwall home game
I shop here often for my weekly shopping and while I tend to find most of the stuff I buy, I’ve noticed it has been decreasing in some offers and products. It’s sad considering it’s the biggest store close by. I realised going the earliest hours are the best, no kids crying like crazy, no people shouting across the store and barely any queuing up, just good old music. I must say, you guys need to have a lock in system for the big trolleys so people don’t take them too far. I’ve seen too many complains about the lack of trolleys, meanwhile they are all around the area used by people who don’t have any empathy and compassion for the next person the pandemic taught me well about that. I’ve seen people body abled with barely any items in those trolleys walking around.
I have shopped at this Tesco for over twenty years - but no more. First, There are now too few check-out staff so that queues at both attended and self check-out are often huge. Secondly, there are almost no trolleys in the car park. These have reportedly been wheeled home by selfish customers and not returned. The staff know where they have been left they have photos but apparently can’t be bothered to go collect them. Shopping at Tesco Surrey Quays has become a right pain and I’ve left for Ocado.
This tesco isn't a good place to be doing shopping in at all because they never have a separate shelfs for the reduced price in the fridge and freezer and on the bakery section . They always like to change their things into another section instead of where it always used to be in , you'll be confused to be thinking where it is. All see now I've wasted all my time coming there . Whenever I go their any time of the day I always see their shelfs empty of no reduced price products. Honestly it's disgusting and unacceptable shop to be buying stuff from. Anyhow they like but I don't do my shopping at tesco and it's fine for me but still. Plus the staff needs to check the expiry dates of when it will expiry, put it on a separate section to keep the environment a safe shop and a safe place because that's what staff are there for. Staffs are not their to be eating while severing a customer at the tills. Staff should eat during their lunchtime , breaktime hours they've got time to eat when they're on break duty only and if they think that time is not okay for them they should tell their boss and their boss will definitely do something about it. That's it simple as ABC . Come on think correctly man as a staff because you're their to do your job correctly and to get paid.
Good store with wide range of foods and accessories. A huge downside to me is that despite having a great selection of F&F clothing, they have completely removed the fitting rooms and even the mirrors so you have to buy to try, but I obviously wouldn't be making trips there in order to exchange unsuitable clothing. It looks like they're doing everything to refrain the customers from buying clothing. They used to blame it on the pandemic, later on lack of staffing but I can always see at least one member of staff in clothing section. As a result of bad management strategies and despite Tesco's efforts to be more eco-friendly, all their clothing will end up on landfills.
Not a safe area. Would like to hear what actions shopping centre is doing to avoid thieves on the bikes ride here on high speed and do their crimes. Adding review for Tesco as the main shop in the centre. UPD: It may be it became calmer now, but check recent reviews.
It's 8.30 Saturday morning not 1 trolley available across the whole car park, fed up being told they have been stolen and they have a contractor driving around collecting them, would like to know when he does this, as Tesco's trolley shortage in very consistent may need a different contractor. And if that's not enough Tesco's have the audacity to treat their customers with contempt by putting our lives at risk by only having the furthest from the exit shutter open, serious H&S issue. Come on Tesco's get your act together and treat your customers with respect after all it's us that give you your unearned fat bonuses while your staff and customers get contempt
Tried getting an energy drink , got asked for my ID even though I look well over 16 and the employee just said "look at the screen" which was showing think 25 after she saw that I just had a monster in the checkout area. Gave me attitude for no reason, its not like i was trying to buy alcohol which I would understand.
I don't know about other Tesco stores, but this one gets a little bit worse every day. In the last months they've been reducing the range of products: certain brands of jam, ice-cream, mayonnaise, bread, etc. are no longer available. A couple of months ago, they removed the butcher counter, and in this area there are close to none independent butchers where to get good quality meat. A month ago, they removed a large number of tills to install a self-service trolly area. I'm all in favour of self-service tills, but in small shops where you just buy a few items; this is a large Tesco Extra, where people come to do their weekly shopping, so they usually have full trolleys. So everything there is very slow, because there is no belt, so people have to manually move the items from the trolley, scan them, and put them in the bag. Basically, they are having the public doing the job they should be paying someone to do. Today, was terrible. I've arrived a bit before 10:30, and there were absolutely no trolleys in the whole car park, or near the entrance. People were desperate trying to find one, chasing other people as they leave the shop and asking for the trolley. Somehow I managed to find a very old one, which was very hard to push I think one of the wheels was broken. By 11, when I wanted to pay and leave, there were only 3 open manned tills, so the queues were all along the aisles. If they wanted to save some money and at the same time benefit their customers, they should have done something like Asda or Waitrose do, use the phones or some handheld device to scan the items as they go into the trolley, and then just stop by a self-service till just to scan the credit card. Ah, and most supermarkets have at least a few chargers for EVs, but not this Tesco, despite having a huge parking lot.
This is the really bad experience that I ever had in my life ….what a rude behaviour from the staffs ? Showing like buying things from a cheap store , even I was asking the black lady what’s wrong with her i was calling the manager and even in front of the customer, how harsh she speaks with him , he’s trying to convince her but she is like I am a trained staff …. So let me say you to the Tesco team pls train them how to behave with the customers! Pls ,,,, I got a bullying nature from the staffs ,is it is not just because of am a”white lady ?
