Poor customer service. A Clubcard offer that should have been on did not deduct from my bill, and when I went to the Customer Service Desk to query it, one of the assistants was very abrupt and rude, trying to make an excuse for the offer not coming off rather than attempting to fix the problem. I'm assuming she was a Team Leader, so she should have known better but she didn't even offer me an apology. I knew I was right but this assistant wasn't prepared to listen to me or look into it for me, so I ended up phoning the helpline and raising my complaint there. The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and understanding, and confirmed that I was correct and that it could have been due to a glitch in the system but they should have sorted it out for me in-store. In the end, he refunded the difference via a voucher to my email address, but it's a very long and complicated process if this is what customers are expected to do each time they are overcharged. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time and I do feel that if this is how those in a position of leadership behave, then there is little hope for newer, less experienced colleagues. I seriously think this lady needs a refresher course in basic customer service and manners. I won't be shopping there in the future.
Shameless racketeering by the Tesco cartel. Probably the only Tesco Express a.k.a. extortionate prices that doesn't have convenience store opening hours. I bought cheaper bananas in the Canadian Arctic which were flown in.
Spacious and well-stocked. I like how they have a variety of brands, including the house-brands which are competitively priced. The reduced-to-clear section often has good deals. Very fast and no-frills checkout if using the self-service tills
Very busy in the evening. The queue was around the aisles and the staff were not that helpful.
Supermarket is an absolute joke, Queue all the way to the back of the shop only 1 cashier on the till and 1 manning the self checkouts. I felt sorry for the cashier as she looked stressed to bits. Customers been hostile to others who think they are jumping the queue coming from the drinks aisle when the queue is hidden in the next aisle. About time tescos realises that not everyone wants to use cards and do a job of cashier. Disgusting service from a big supermarket chain. No wonder little businesses are benifiting from you're greed.
