In 2020/2021, due to the pandemic, it became necessary for everyone to wear a face shield or a protective face mask. As I was wearing a face shield, which was allowed at the time, the manager approached me and asked me to replace the shield with a mask. I felt that the situation was unnecessary and I felt like I was the one being targeted. The following time When I went to Horncastle Tesco, I was wearing a mask like they asked, but some of the staff were wearing face shields which shocked me. I was held to one standard, and they another. Shocking. One particular worker at Tesco made my family and I feel welcomed by being extremely respectful during our time there. It would be a great idea to give that guy a raise for his great performance. On numerous occasions, I have shopped at this Tesco’s. But I didn’t like the way some of the staff behaved. From what I can tell and from my experience, they seem to be quite harsh and mean. The staff at the Boston Tesco’s always has a better attitude than the local store in Horncastle, which is why I make the trip to go there.
Sorry but this is NOT a superstore. Its a local store. I parked up on my journey expecting a store with toilet facilities, and to stock up. Maybe in the holiday season parking becomes and issue so they feel they have to charge for those not wanting to use the shop. But since the store expansion didn't happen, then tesco should really drop the superstore label. I used Co-op last night. Nice store, helpful staff!
Advertised by Google as a 'superstore' so stopped expecting public toilets. It's a small store, not much bigger than one of the larger tesco express stores and you have to pay & display to park. They don't have public toilets but a staff member was nice enough to let my daughter use the staff toilet.
We popped into tesco on our way from the Midlands to Skegness as we rent out caravans on the park dean site. One needed some repairs before renting out. When we went to pay at the self checkout. This was Saturday 18th March around 10 am. I paid for some items on my building company business card then continued to pay for other personal items separately. An elderly lady that works covering the checkouts came over and sternly said are we going to pay for a bag. We explained that we were doing it at the end when we needed to bag the items which we did. We thought how rude the woman was. We left the shop and started walking across the carpark and she came chasing after us calling excuse me waving our receipt at us. I took it from her although it wasn't required and she shouted "and you didn't pay for your bag" I looked at the receipt she had given me which showed the 30p bag charge so I followed her back into the shop asking for a manager. They were on break and I believe it was security that arrived. The old lady said we had two bags but we were standing clearly infront of everyone with one bag. Security had to apologise on her behalf as she wouldn't despite causing an embarrassing schene infront of the store. Security said they have had a few problems with her in the past. Tesco sort your staff out. Just because I was in my work clothes she seemed to think I was a peasant or something. My building company has won awards and I've worked very hard to be successful. Have a bit of respect for those that get thier hands dirty in this world.
Fantastic store for the community of Horncastle. It's a Pay and Display car park, however the car park charges is knocked off your bill. They have a bakery, deli, fresh fruit and veg, fresh produce and a great variety of Drinks, frozen and chilled foods. The free fruit for kids is a fantastic initiative, which my kids love. Staff always fantastic here, never can do enough
Came to buy our food shop as we were passing through Horncastle.. I drive a LWB van and there was nowhere to park it without paying for two parking spaces. Ended up driving to Market Rasen instead..free car park and easier to find spaces. Never seen a pay and display at a supermarket before..its laughable..especially on top of the shopping bills..
Prices keep going up daily. It used to be value for money but now they are just taking the Micky out of their loyal customers.
Friendly staff, especially the lovely cashiers on the checkout. Can't always get everything, but that's okay...Horncastle is a good market town.
Tiny ‘super store’! Enough for topping up supplies but not enough choice for a weekly shop in my opinion. Friendly staff. You have to pay for parking but it can be reclaimed at the till.
Always love Tesco's but a bit small and doesn't always have everything I want, but a good stop gap.
