Looked for an evening supper after an early start, working all day and staying local. Pleasant and friendly welcome by a young staff of 2 girls and a boy. Nothing was too much trouble as I wanted to eat in but so nice I sat outside on their picnic benches. Large Chips, Pie and Fruity Curry ordered. Said they would bring out which they did with proper knife and fork instead of wooden ones as I’d asked to sit inside first.nPiping hot and wasn’t disappointed. Chips were the best chippy chips I’ve had in a long time. They were crisp on outside, not greasy and fluffy inside. Pie was good and flaky, maybe could have been warmer but good. Fruity Curry was banging, great dipping my chips into. Felt well full and happy customer walked back to the hotel. Definitely call in again when i’m working up that way.
Nice little place to go for some fish and chips which were made perfectly. Staff are very pleasant and welcoming and always had a smile on their face and interacted with whoever came in.
Unfortunately not a good visit for us!nCalled in for 2 x fish, chips and peas, and a sausage for the dog.nWas charged just over £18 which I thought was reasonable until the food arrived. Just 1 x fish chips and peas, so then was asked for another £14 odd for another fish chips and peas. Which I paid without question as there were quite a few people waiting and assumed the food must be good quality for the money.nAs a kind gesture, they didn't charge me 20p for the 2 wooden forks.nThe next disappointment was the fish! I don't know what to say really. The batter was well cooked, but greasy yet the fish seemed undercooked and watery! Judging by some of the other reviews, some people have experienced the same but yet have had nice fish previously. I guess they may use frozen fish at times?nThe chips were nice and the dog enjoyed the sausage hence 2 stars
Chips were okay. Great portion size . Fish was very poor well over cooked. We couldn't eat it. I did pre order as normally they never have any pies and we expected high quality. For the price £42 Disappointed curry sauce brilliant. Will be a while before we come back.
Vile, £12 for 2 sausage and chips, food went in bin. Looked nice, chips looked luvly, but they wernt, sausage rock hard, chips were so greesy the boxes the chips were in went soggy with all the greese, threw the lot, first time we been ther, wont go again.
