Controller was rude and abrupt hung up when we phoned to find out where our taxi was. Booked taxi for 8am the day before, poor taxi driver got told at 8am that he had a booking at 8 so he was 15mins lat. He was very apologetic and explained how the system worked. SORT OUT YOUR OFFICE STAFF
The receptionist is really rude, cabs won’t come on time it’s such a waste of time
Possibly the worst taxi service in Ipswich? I don't use cabs very often but my car was in the garage for 3 days and I needed to get somewhere. Booked cab the day before for a 9.00 am pick up the next day. Immediately received a text to say cab was booked. At 9.00 am next morning cab was not there but I received a text to say it had been dispatched. At 9.15 still no sign of cab. Rang Ipswich Cabs and man said it was on the way but there had been some hold-ups. Cab eventually arrived at 9.30 am. Driver said 'morning' but did not apologise, so I said "An apology for being half an hour late would be nice" His reply was "Do you want to walk or do you want me to take you? It's not my fault I was only given the job at ten past nine and I was the other side of town!" The ability to provide good customer service or having good interpersonal skills are obviously not key attributes that Ipswich Cabs require from job applicants. On the subject of interpersonal skills, I would ordinarily have told him to **** off there and then but I was already half an hour late and needed to get to my destination without further delay. Awful company - will never use them again. Avoid.
Ordered a service last weekend, it was supposed to stop somewhere to drop some of us off and then carry off to drop the other people off. First, it took the driver ages to find the address because he kept going the wrong way despite having a postal code. We had to call three times to make sure the taxi was still coming. Once he finally got there and we left, he decided to kick us all out in a very, very rude manner at the first stop claiming one in our group was drunk. This was at 3:30am on a weekend. I believe it is to be expected that if you pick up someone from a party at that time they might be slightly tipsy. However, no one was causing a fuzz or being rude or loud or anything like that. Third, the driver called my friend who ordered the service to complain and basically tell her off for the whole thing and he hung up on her. So yeah, not hiring them ever again. Appalling service from rude drivers? No, thank you.
Female operator was incredibly rude when I called, told me my house was on the system as time waster. I explained that I had just moved in and not used the company before - continued to be rude told me they would send a taxi if I wanted but had a very bad attitude. I then called Hawk express, they sounded very busy but the female operator at Hawk was really polite and helpful - will NOT book a taxi with Ipswich Cabs again - lacking in basic politeness and customer service.
Phone operator didn't record clearly my pick-up point. Had 2 texts saying driver couldn't find me, but I didn't know where the driver was.
Booked a taxi yesterday for my first day at work today. Ten minutes after my booking time, I called the firm to cancel my taxi. They informed me the driver was still about 3 mins away. This would have made the driver nearly 15 mins late. Thankfully my mother was off work and managed to take me to the station in time. I will never use this firm again as I need to be on time for work!
