I recently dined at the Tate Modern Restaurant and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. While the atmosphere is lovely, with a nice ambiance and beautiful views of the river, the food itself was a letdown. The dishes lacked the flavor and creativity I was hoping for, leaving much to be desired. On a positive note, the service was attentive and friendly, which was a redeeming factor in the overall experience. However, given the reputation of the Tate Modern, I expected much more from the dining experience. It’s a shame that the food didn’t match the stunning views and great service.
Fantastic views in a comfortable dining room. The food is presented well , not tasting as dear as the cost. We enjoyed our time here even with a few weak points.Food: 3/5
The view is amazing. I got the sourdough bread starter and the white sausages main. The bread was very dry and the sausages had a weird texture and were ridiculously fattening the side potatoes were nice but small portion for the price. Disappointed considering the dear price bread + main + apple juice = £40
We were not impressed by the food - pretty average. Waitresses were lovely but the service was quite slow an hour to get main dishes…. View is nice.Food: 2/5
You can enjoy a broad window to see the landscape. I visited on Sunday, so I needed to wait around 40 minutes. But when staff designated the seat for window table. It was so nice I could look under the city and also contact cathedal! Although you should order a drink and other menu to sit window table, I had enjoyed a good time.
A hidden gem! I visited with my family and was blown away by friendly welcome and service. We sat looking out towards St Paul's Cathedral, and even on a rainy day, the view was captivating! We could have happily sat there for hours. The food was exceptional. We loved that they had a children's menu with nicely thought-out kids' mocktails. We are looking forward to visiting again. Thanks for a wonderful experience
Lovely views, very attentive but not overbearing service and good food. A bit expensive for what you get... fairly simple food but we both enjoyed it. The suggested beer was quite good too.Food: 4/5
We bought a bundle of lunch and Yayoi Kusama mirror exhibition. The loo location is great with beafull view. The food was ok. Well presented as expected from a restaurant in this location but the flavours were average/ average plus. The Tataki tuna was the better dish out of all the rest.Food: 4/5
This place is trying to achieve a modern fine dining look but unfortunately falls short due to haphazard service performance, portion sizing differences and some food being underseasoned. The service was a little lacking at times, we ordered two tuna tatakis one clearly had more than the other. I was challenged by the waitress when I asked to have them changed but eventually they were changed. We ordered the halibut for main course which came with unseasoned broccoli, literally no seasoning at all and there was no salt or pepper on the table. We were waiting a long time to receive the drinks and desert menu. The custard tart that we eventually ordered was great.
Very good experience - a special and memorable meal here. Well presented and interesting dishes. Beautiful mocktails. My husband loved his steak and said it was the best in a long time. Stunning, unforgettable river views as on 6th floor of the gallery. Excellent red wine - see photo. Not a place to bring anyone with hearing difficulties as there are no soft furnishings - it’s a loud canteeny space with dragging wooden chairs. Also NOT cheap but I would definitely say worth it for a special occasion with an art lover.
