Not Authentic Gujarati food and servicre was a bit slow but still a very nice resteraunt
Fantastic. I've been here twice in 5 years. Both visits have been top notch. Food is really tasty. Portions aren't huge but rather perfect in size. This is a solid, consistent place. Beer isn't a rip off which I appreciate. I will be coming back for sure!
On Sat night we had a table booked for a group so they knew what they would be needed. Over 2 hours to get our main course. They still had the cheek to add service charge which we had to ask to be taken off. Feel they kept us waiting so we would buy more drinks. Quality of food was OK but nothing special. Service apart from wait was basic at functional. Turned out to be a very expencive meal also. Will not return.
Probably the best curry that I have ever had! ALWAYS super tasty, never swimming in oil and each dish isn;t the brown mess that you often get from Indian restaurants. It really is very, very good. The only problem is that it's quite slow service once you've ordered it's usually a 45 minute wait for food but that's OK as that means more drinking time! I go at east every month and have only had one sub standard meal in about 4 years. In fact, I'm off there tonight...
Delightful, family run, Indian restaurant. Great food served in simple surroundings.
I'm from NY and have visited the UK about 20 times over the years, often eating in Indian Restaurants both in the States and England. I stumbled upon Taste of Gujarat on a day out to Richmond last fall and couldn't believe my luck. Every course was delicious and so different from the typical fare. I have thought about my meal and the lovely staff many times and can't wait to return this fall.
For our £36 we got 2 large beers, a tasty stater of potatoes in a spicey sauce, tawa lamb which was full of flavour and very tender, sag and cauliflower plus rice and a nan Both main dishes were of a good size and the meal as a whole was more than enough for 2 Meals took about 50 minutes...
Food was good but I’ve had better before. What put me off was the very smelly and dirty toilet. There was a strange smell in the restaurant too so we almost left before. The waitress was nice and efficient but it took a long time to get the food although it wasn’t busy. Wanted to use my tastecard but they wouldn’t take it although they’re registered on the tastecard list of restaurants but said they don’t do it!
Ate here before heading home after a day trip to London. I eat curries often and have to say this was the best I've ever eaten. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!
It was fairly average. I had a methi chicken which was on but didn't blow my mind at all. The service was poor. We were the only people there but still waited a long time for the food to turn up they seemed to be busy with takeaway drivers and one of the dishes we ordered was unavailable.
