Helping the community to eat healthier
Taste Not Waste is a brand new community fruit and vegetable shop opening soon in Dawley, Telford that will provide affordable, healthy, locally grown food and cooking tips to Telford's residents, whilst also working with food banks to distribute free nutritious food to those who need it. The project is supported by Pride in Your Community.
We are currently looking for fruit and vegetable growers/sellers that would like to get involved with the project. Any assistance would be graciously received.
Our policy is to prevent filling landfill with the fresh food that can be put to use! We are aiming to improve health inequalities for the public of Telford and Wrekin area,
With food prices in the country escalating, wages stagnating and food bank usage on the rise, we feel it is more important than ever to ensure the public receive the nutritional value of fresh fruit and vegetables that they might otherwise be unable to afford.
we work with the local food banks ; as we believe this will give people, the victims and minerals required to substance a healthier living. it will also allow us to reach the wider community, enabling to benefit others further.
The Red Cross has also done a study and found people who do not eat fruit and vegetables are 40 percent more likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke. We want people to be able to afford the beneficial foods to aid them in having a more stable lifestyle and diet.
Obestatey , Diabetes, are just a few of the illness that are on the increase by offering affordable fruit and vegetables to help the body with natural minerals may help people to eat better food and be healthier.
We also hope to aid individuals with cooking lessons and educating them in terms of how to cook a healthy basic wartime meal on a low budget. We also wish to aid others in how to get their children to try healthy meals by DISGUISE the food and allowing children to gain more knowledge regarding healthy food.
Overall, we would be extremely appreciative and grateful for your thoughts and opinions on this new community project.
