Great food and service, will definitely be coming back
The food was lovely cooked to perfection . The two girls who served us what can i say their customer service was fantastic they actually looked like they enjoyed what they were doing, they engaged with the customer and actually smiled. Well done girls me and my husband had a lovely night.
Ordered olives for a starter which we were mislead to believe were 3.50. They were actually 6.50 when the bill came. Upon confronting this issue we were met with an abrupt waitress and no apology. Pizza was very poor. The duck was very good. Left with a sour taste and wont return again.
Walked in for a takeaway pizza & they were so accommodating despite being really busy. Waited for 10mins with a beer, & pizza was ready... hot, spicy, original & delicious for less than £14. Would definitely go back
The starter was great and the restaurant is very well presented. We both tried something different with the mains. Sadly we found two hairs in the food the salad was overly dressed in oil and so was my partners dish she had butternut squash raviolli and I had a hake special dish which was very bland and unfilling. We ended up skipping desert and finished up in zefferalis which was much better.
mmm mmm mmm Absolutely delicous meal. I had the meatballs with pasta and my partner had lasagna and both were lovely, and the portions were very large. For desert I had the Chocolate and raspberry cheese cake, which was probably the nicest cheesecake I have ever had. The staff were great and we were served by Tom who was lovely . If anyone wants a reasonably priced Italian meal in the lake district I highly recommend Tarantella .
Stunned by the rude service. My friends and I were in Ambleside for the weekend. After a lovely day along the lake and watching a film, we decided to look up the best restaurants to eat in Ambleside. Tarentella came up on the list with great reviews so we headed there excited for dinner after a long day of touring. Unfortunately that anticipated excitement was the best part of our experience. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we saw a group there standing in the inside of the door, waiting to be served. We stood next to this group to also to wait to be seated. One of the waitresses came to the group and we heard the waitress tell the group that there weren't any tables available. As soon as we saw the group turn towards the door, we stepped forward and made eye contact with the same waitress but she quickly turned away. we were standing there waiting and a bit confused why the lady didn't acknowledge us. I noticed the restaurant was quite busy but it seemed like several times the waitresses saw us and didn't greet us. After about 5 minutes, one of the waitresses finally acknowledged our presence and hastily asked 'how can I help you?' We asked 'Is there a table for 4 please?' To which she replied 'no tables for the rest of the night' in a cold, rude manner and turned away. We were quite stunned with the reply and even stood there a few seconds after not really sure how to react. We eventually left after a few seconds, upset and disappointed about what just transpired. I have never written a review on Google but after this experience I felt extremely compelled to write this. Not because I want anything from this as a make-good but because I don't want this to happen to anyone else. It was even more surprising because during the past 2 days, my friends and I had noted how nice the people were in Lake District especially compared to London sometimes. I appreciate how busy a restaurant can be but even under the busiest circumstances, I just expect what I consider the basic set of courtesy when it comes to addressing your customers and potential customers.

Sad experience. A retaurant that does not take reservations and has two tables free, sends me away because I am a lonely eater...bad decision. Between drinks and food I also happen to spend enough for three over dinner. Lost my repeat business and lost my review.
