I’ve been wanting to try this place for a couple of years but the reviews put me off. Finally tried yesterday for a mid morning coffee and cake despite those reviews. Loved it. It’s quirky and interesting inside, the coffee and the cake were really good, and the toilets not as bad as people make out. I think we were lucky that we turned up when drinks were being prepared for other people but after us the server disappeared out the back and several other people came and went without being served. Definitely worth it for the experience and, as I said, cake was delicious
Had to drop in on this place quizzical that it has both 1 and 5 star reviews! It's a really quirky little cafe serving great coffee , tea and cakes as well as pasties and sausage rolls. Comfy seats and a cosy atmosphere- a great break was had. Really friendly staff too! Keep it up and don't worry about those moaning Minnie's!
Don't be deceived by the look of this coffee shop - we were! Firstly, the person who had tried to order drinks before us had waited 5 minutes and given up when no member of staff was visible. It seemed eerily unstaffed. When we arrived, we had to shout loudly to get anyone to serve us. When they appeared from behind a sliding door at the rear of the shop, their mood was indifferent towards us. We had coffee, which was hot but not great tasting and one of the mugs had a chip in it. The whole ambience of a coffee shop is determined by its staff and the level of customer service. This is why we are awarding such a low rating. Although the decor tries to give the impression of a fashionable designer interior, it is very overdone and unnecessary. Nothing is worthy of praise. We will not be returning.
What a crazy experience reviews were right the lady does take an age to come out. Very friendly and chatty had a cheese pannini
Lovely, quirky, & clean place. A strange place to find such a niche theme! Service was polite but needed a bit more friendliness and waitress/barista really needed to remove that stick from her backside and smile a bit more.
Very rude owner. She got angry because I asked for a receipt for my coffee. She kept on saying her terminal was broken. Not true as she took payment from me. Avoid this business
Hardly any choice of sandwiches, ordered ham and egg which was the best of a bad bunch. Had one bite, it was inedible £4.50 for processed ham, which I wouldn’t give to my dog. Avoid!!
Bit odd, stopped for a coffee and managed to walk through the entire place with no answer. Was tempted to start making the coffee myself. Given it the extra star as it looked nice.
At first I wrote a bad review but then I thought ‘no I’ll write an encouraging one’ The décor is lovely with such potential. Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t nice. People these days are looking for a nice coffee experience. This was not. Maybe an idea is to make the atmosphere better. A little light music might help. Better coffee and less bish bash bosh. Unless you’re specifically looking to cater for the lorry drivers. Parking: Good parking
Worth visiting for the quirky layout and decor - and the drinks are fine.
