Lovely, peaceful place for a walk. Some open grassed areas and some wooded areas. Some wheelchair friendly paths, some steep hills. Great for dog walkers and families. Free parking.
This is a country park good for picknick. A free car park and also play area for childrens and teenage available. When you walk toward you will reach a small hillock call Tandle hill where you see panoramic view over Manchester Oldham and Rovhdale mountains.
Great place for family day out picnic there is a cafe there. Good place to take dogs, also good place to fo for a run. So much to do and free unless your visiting the cafe
There is a small free car park and when that gets full there is plenty of on-street parking right next to the car park. The cafe on site had a toilet block which on first inspection was closed, but opened later on when we were there. Next to the cafe is an excellent little play area that the kids can play on whilst you chill out on the picnic benches. There is a nice walk that appears to have many routes around. On the way there is a great aerial rope adventure play area, this is probably for kids aged 8+ but there are some points that the kids needed help on and one of those points was out of reach to anyone but the 7 foot plus people that I can only assume must be there frequently. The walk takes you to a view point with a war memorial on the top of the hill. It can get steep and there are a lot of steps, but for most it would be accessible. The view is worth it. We could see Oldham, Manchester and Rochdale as it was a clear day. Beautiful scenery. Would be excellent for mountain biking too as there are many trails through the woods.
Did a birthday hike here, so beautiful, lots of lovely views just lacking bins as there was bits of rubbish everywhere Recommend
Great park and walk kids loved it We had a picnic but there is a cafe. Loads of car park space and road parking for free The slides awesome
Great place to take the dog's as it's so open and spacious. My daughter and I enjoyed the scenic walks. Didn't use the cafe as we had a picnic but it looked decent and was pretty busy. Public toilets, children's playground and free parking. Lots of seating and bins scattered around the park. We passed lots of people pushing prams, using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Definitely recommend and will continue to visit regularly.
Beautiful place to have a walk round, very scenic from up at the monument.
Absolutely amazing park, best for hiking. This park is located in Oldham 2mils away from St cuthberts High school in such an amazing location beautiful scenery, they have a woodland area sandpit area, lots of activities located on the ground area and a cafe with seating around the building which also accommodates toilets They have plenty of places for picnics on ground or even on the tables benches available. So an amazing place got bikers This place is amazing for picnic and just having an amazing day out with family on a nice day things the place. Playground: Huge playing grounds Restrooms: Restroom available at the side of cafe Dog-friendliness: Dogs are able to be walked and play here with responsibility Picnic area: All areas a suitable for picnics whether that be the grass areas and the picnic benches available
Gorgeous country park. Had the most beautiful autumn walk here. It's a good walk up to the very top of the hill, approx 30 minutes, but it's well worth it for the stunning views. It's a kid-friendly walk too with a proper path and steps up to the very top. Also, there's a great play park next to the cafe. All in all, beautiful. What a gem this place is.
