Tanakatsu is a Japanese restaurant designed in a minimalist style. It has a peaceful atmosphere and the staff is welcoming. The grilled eel dragon roll sushi was one of the best sushi I've had in London. The taste of cabbage salad with salad dressing was legendary. Other dishes were also very delicious. They also kindly offer a cup of green tea at the end of the meal. Highly recommended. Don't forget to make a reservation in advance!
Really delicious, within the top 3 best katsu curry I’ve had in London. The karaage was also really good, well seasoned and I liked the sauce. Some lime might be nice too. The cabbage salad and dressing were super delicious! Great atmosphere and service.Food: 5/5
An authentic Japanese place just a short walk from Angel station. I really liked the minimalist and clean decor, all of which contributed to a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the pork katsu don. The pork itself was pretty good, though I feel like there could've been more egg! Also I wasn't sure what to do with the shredded cabbage and the staff very kindly suggested that we tried their homemade dressing it was fantastic! I slathered my cabbage with the dressing
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for Japanese cuisine and for those looking to explore. The food was really amazing and very tasty.Food: 5/5
Just came back from a 3 week trip in Japan in Early April and the itch for good Japanese inspired cuisines has been strong, after hearing about ‘the best Katsu Curry in London’ belonging to Tankatsu I had to give it a try. I was blown away by the food and the service, the level of quality involved in every aspect of the meal was perfect and the price was good as well, will be sure to be back soon! Also, make sure to try the Mighty Dressing, you will probably end up buying it like i did!
I don’t know what to say… just incredible! I love katsu and their service so much. I will for sure come back very soon. Genuine Japanese food with Japanese style customer service. Very clean and minimalistic interior. We had absolutely lovely time here :Food: 5/5
Amazing minimalist restaurant with amazing staff and food. They are most accommodating to us and helpful. I tried the katsu curry which was fantastic, large portions for great prices. Have a delicious homemade sauce for the cabbage salad. Will most definitely be returning for the sushi and Teriyaki. Remember to always book a table as it rightly should be, it is always busy.
The best Japanese food I've had anywhere since living in Japan! On my first visit here, I tried the Express Bento Box special with Pork Katsu and the Red Bean Dorayaki dessert afterward. The sushi was fresh, everything had amazing flavor, including their different sauces, and the proportions were perfect. They also kindly offered a glass of hot green tea! On my second visit here because I returned the very next day I had the Express Bento Box special again to try the Salmon Teriyaki and Chocolate Mochi for dessert afterward. Their food and service are consistently great, and the atmosphere is peaceful, clean, and welcoming. They also use family recipes which makes the restaurant even more unique. I highly recommend that you visit here at least once while you're in London!
Really happy with my experience. Had amazing Katsu in Japan a month ago while on holiday and wanted to recreate the experience I had there. In that aspect Tanakatsu did not disappoint. I will definitely make sure visit again.Food: 5/5
