Went in with daughter told it was a 4 hr wait it was busy so fair enough but seen for raging temperatures throught the day on sepsis pathway had been in the waiting room 7 hrs after triage had to knock on the door due to my daughter being BRIGHT RED and blotchy I asked them to check her temperature which was 41! We were taken through she was hallucinating had some medication and bloods taken left in there for another 2 hours then asked to move back to the waiting room to be told my daughter was being admitted and needed it antibiotics was told there was no cot she needed to sleep in a bed but if she fell out it would be my fault !! So was in A&E 12 hours On the ward the following day asked the nurse to check my daughter as she was shivering but boiling hot to be told it was just parental anxiety she is fine I insisted she had her temperature checked it was 40.9 and she had rigors so medication was finally given All in all been sent away with MORE antibiotics and told if her temperature continues for the next 2 days bring her back in ?!!? Won’t be going back to Tameside shocking
I’ve undergone three minor operations at this location over the past two years, and I genuinely don’t understand why it has a bad reputation. My experience with the staff has always been nothing short of exceptional. Every time, I’ve been treated with kindness, professionalism, and great care. The team has gone above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout each visit. From the moment I arrived to the follow-up care, I felt supported and in safe hands. A huge thank you to the staff at Tameside for the amazing work you do! You have made what could have been stressful experiences much more manageable, and for that, I can’t thank you enough. You are truly the best!
if i wanted to keep this short and.. not so sweet but simple.. where do i start? well first off the doctors were hanging out on their phones in the middle of the walk in area, they kept bumping the waiting time up, i got there, they said 3 hours, when i left, it was about 5 hours waiting time, i left without getting checked up. i noticed how much the differences are between care at oldham hospital and this one. i mean, Oldham hospital is just overcrowded. but.. they get stuff done, on time. this hospital? far from that. i advise to never go here unless its super urgent. the injured patients at the walk-in area were more polite than the damn staff! thanks to this experience, im never gonna be even caught DEAD in a hospital. send me straight to the grave. dont try and save me. ive been given enough for a first impression of this hospital. thats as short as i can keep it. waiting times horrible, rude staff, staff act like they are at home relaxing on their phones. no. just. no. never gonna catch me near this place again.
Shocking! Was told 3.5 hour wait for my daughter who was in pain, faint, raging temperature, throwing up and stomach pain. Query appendicitis/sepsis 5 hours later still sat on the floor and receptionist too rude to check how much longer but waiting times shot up to 7.5 hours. Worst place to be in pain. ****Update years later**** 1 star still stands. Rude receptionists. I was a direct referral by GP and accepted prior to arrival. Was told I'd be directed straight through. That didn't happen and I wasn't seen for over 5 hours. Again sat on the floor. There is zero communication with patients.
Had a replacement hip . From my first appt with the surgeon, the booking dept , the admissions dept , the ward staff , the porters ,physios etc etc all fantastic. Not one complaint , perfect oh and food was lovely. Do not criticise your local hosp. They are there for YOU under difficult circumstances Philip
I went to the walk in centre today at Tameside hospital as my GP said I needed to be seen , but they didn’t have any appointments. I waited around 90 minutes to be seen . Fantastic service . I got a good thorough examination , The Doctor listened, I didn’t feel rushed in any way and came away with lots of medication . If only all GP’s showed this much dedication . I just hope I’m feeling better soon . I can’t remember the Doctors name , but he’s a credit to the service .
Great service. Appointment made through 111. Arrived, assessed x - rayed and treated all within an hour. Great team in the ENP department.
Beyond shocking experience. Waiting 3 months for a CT scan result when you cannot eat any food is inhumane. I’ve just been left with no answer, STILL no results!!! ENT receptionist makes me feel like an annoyance for ringing and asking about results. When I got upset she accused me of shouting at her. Imagine not being able to eat solids since February and no one even caring. Not one follow up call, massive weight loss. They just don’t care. Becoming severely depressed & begging for some results, the reply? “I’ll email radiology, but they don’t tend to get back to us” What’s the point?! I advise insist to avoid this hospital at ALL costs. They just don’t care.
10 hour wait time in a&e for a head injury just for them to tell me to go to a different hospital as they can’t help me there. waste of time and effort. don’t bother going here your better off at mri in manchester where they actually have staff who care
I have received excellent care from MRI scan staff, phlebotomy clinic, through to staff in the Women's Unit. You have all made a scary time much easier to deal with, thank you so much.
