Tamar Laundry

Actually disgusting inside. I worked there in 2014 and wouldn't let my dog sleep in the sheets . Very unhygienic. I've recently heard there is a new owner so things might have improved. Ask to look around before having your clothes washed there.

As a small guesthouse in Weymouth, we were forced to consider using Tamar due to the indifferent performance of local laundries - only to find Tamar Laundries no better. They offered 72-hour turn-round, rather inconvenient to us but their prices were slightly lower (at least for sheets). However, they were usually only ironed on one side and occasionally returned worse than when sent. The drivers called next door without fail (just 5 yards away!) but often rushed off without dropping off and picking at ours. Sometimes they would turn up as late as 7pm on a thursday! When we complained, they offered to pick up next day but that was no use to us in our busy season. They tore a sheet and have done nothing to put things right for several months, now. The washes they returned almost never matched what we had sent and thier delivery notes usually failed to match up with either what was sent or returned. Their account statements usually left us confused and suspicious as a result - and we spent many many hours tryig to make sense of the claimed charges - often receiving an adjustment afterwards but hardly reassuring. The washing was usually clean but occasionally stains were noted, which did not correspond with what had been sent. On a few other occasions, when there were stains on sent washing, these were not removed - despite returning and rewashing. Their process, in common with most, is a 40 degree C cycle so this may explain failure to remove stains. Overall, not a great experience. Indeed, if any new Laundry business were to set uo near Weymouth, able to offer even reasonable quality and performance, they would probably make a killing among the 160 or so local hotels and guesthouses, while outfits like Tamar would not get a look-in! Must do better !
