First visit here and had booked a table for Sunday lunch. On arrival we waited at the reception desk and although staff could see us, noone approached or acknowledged us. Eventually we called out and asked if we should continue to wait or make our own way to a table. Yes, staff might be busy but a quick acknowledgement that they would be with us in a minute would have sufficed. First impressions last so not a good start. We were eventually seated. The actual place is quite stylish and a nice to sit . We ordered the 3 meats Sunday dinner which to be fair arrived quickly. The food itself however was a disappointment. 3 rather thin slices of meat, small scoop of mash, 2 small roast potatoes and an enormous Yorkshire pudding. I sat waiting for the vegetables to be brought separately until one of our party pointed out that they were already on the plate, hidden beneath the meat! Small amount of carrot, swede and red cabbage. Not enough for me! We later found out that a another portion of veg was missing from our plates but to my mind the amount of food is still quite insufficient. I don't think I'll pay another visit. Locally, there are better Sunday meals to be had at a cheaper price. I think this is poor value for money and I didn't get any sense of enjoyment here.
Beautiful place to stop the night. The room was clean, cosy and lots of toiletries. Also a mini fridge in the room. The food was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend the 7 cheese pie, it was incredible and staff were also very lovely. Service was quick at the bar and at the restaurant. Breakfast was lovely. Definitely will be going back and will be recommending to friends and family. A special thank you to Tom who was always there to help. We had the most amazing weekend
Been here a good few times now and every time we go the menu has changed or there is something they don't have in. However, I have also had some great meals here and the place itself is lovely & in a great setting. Do wish it was more consistent though! Lots of potential.
Poor Tom, trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Starters were fine, main courses not very good, invest in cooking staff, lovely surroundings, money spent on aesthetics. This place could be amazing with the right staff.
First and last visit. Went for Sunday lunch, ordered the Turkey. Was very dry, hardly any veg, Yorkshire pudding was over cooked. Very bland meal. Asked for cranberry sauce, they didn’t have any. Had ordered a drink, waited 20 minutes it didn’t turn up so had to ask again. Eventually turned up in a glass with a massive crack in it. Went to the till to pay at the end and their card machines weren’t working. Had to hang around for 15 minutes whilst they tried to fix the problem. Overall the place is badly run, felt like I was an extra in faulty towers. Avoid
We went there for lunch so can't give a rating for rooms. I've given the service 3 stars because the service was certainly lacking, this also influenced my overall rating. The food was very good but after waiting about an hour for it we were beginning to wonder if we should just forget it and leave. Other people around were asking the same question. There may have been a problem we weren't aware of, if so then they should have made everyone aware.
We found this place when searching for a dog-friendly restaurant during our visit in the area for 3 days. And we had really high expectations before arriving here. The restaruant is very nicely decorated and dining atmosphere is superb. We booked a table for two of us and our dog. But we were taken to what we think was the bar area as all booths were apparently reserved and we wanted our dog to sit next to us on a chair, which he always does. This was not a problem. The menu I would describe more of a pub menu rather than a proper restaurant menu as the only steak on the menu was rump steak. We both had seafood chowder which were very nice and tasty. My partner's salmon was dry and overcooked. My Katsu chicken wasn't very nice in terms of presentation and taste. The service was slow and lacking. We waited quite a long time for our drinks. The young waitresses were very police and nice but service wasn't very attentive. No one came to check on our meals. We finished our meal and waited for a long time. Then had to walk back to the restaurant area to ask for our bill and make the payment. A total of £80 for meal for two, which wasn't cheap. But we think the food and service should be a lot better to match the gorgeous settings.
Very enjoyable meal in a very clean stylish restaurant, the staff were very friendly and professional. The food was hot and very taste. We will definitely be returning.Service: 5/5
We stayed here in December for my partner’s birthday. We had the Snowdonia Suite. Such a perfect stay. The staff went above and beyond for us, the suite was magnificent. The hot tub was fantastic. We cannot fault this place. It wasn’t our first stay and it won’t be our last. We even stayed for a few hours after we checked out, reading, drinking coffee for me Prosecco for the birthday girl!. The food and breakfast In Particular is amazing. Food & drinks: Great food & drinks menu. We saw a party having afternoon tea, it looked delicious- something for everyone
Excellent food and service. Just hope they continue the 2 course for £10 or 3 for £15 and not just do it for few weeks. Best bit for us it dog friendlyService: 4/5
