This was the worst Dim Sum place i have even tried. My partner and I ordered a few types of dim sum. Most of them were very dry and undercooked. Foods came in a slow pace. We finished one dim sum, and the staff came to get the empty plate, then we waited for the next dim sum. I have never tried to eat and wait for the food one by one in the UK. Not only food, but also the tea. The tea came after the food was delivered, and the tea came because we reminded the staffs for few times. If we don’t remind them, they just kept talking with other staffs. The staffs even couldn’t speak any simple English. We had no idea what the staffs here were doing. With low quality foods and pace, the staffs just wanted to push us to finish our food and leave the restaurant, even there was no queue. We were very disappointed about the restaurant. At last, my partner rejected to pay for the tips. The staff used Cantonese asked me the reason My partner can only understand English. It made my partner feel very embarrassed because he totally couldn’t understand what the staffs were trying to say. Therefore, I only said the service and food quality were not deserved the tips. Then the staffs spoke in Cantonese to me again : takeawayexact wording Translation: Order takeaway next time and don’t sit here. I felt so offended, and my partner, again, was so embarrassed because he had still no idea what the staff was talking. Why not the restaurant just put the tips charge on the bills and set it as a compulsory charge? It is not about money, but respect!
It's been about 2-3 years since we last visited, so we were excited. We went for a birthday celebration today for dimsum around 4pm, with the intention to avoid peak times. Dim sum opening times are now 11am - 4.30pm. There were about 5-6 tables. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were asked to sanitise hands before entering the restaurant and all staff have been wearing masks throughout. It felt safe enough to dine in. Food is good in general, but some of the portions are getting smaller and prices are going up which we understand, due to covid and current economy. Overall, a lovely experience. We would go again.
First time here, thought I would try as it was near the Hotel. Food was really tasty. Great portions. Staff were helpful and attentive. Great value for money, would totally recommend a visit.
The food hasn’t been great from the start, it’s really ordinary and bland, everything does taste like nothing. The good thing about this place is when you say hi to the waiters and waitresses then they react and say hi back. It isn’t recommended in my books.
This was actually the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been too. Excellent food with a fabulous Asian supermarket next door. The only negative side was... that out of the 6 waitresses and waiters that served us, only one was polite and happy to please. Now this maybe excused as a cultural devide but in my books...manners are manners no matter from where you are from. We will happily be going back however.
Wow! That was my reaction when I saw the food come out. My friend said to try this place and when I saw the expensive prices I was hesitant, but the portion sizes are massive and the food tastes brilliant. Definitely recommend coming here
Food was very lovely worth the price we had dinner and the restaurant was very special, so I went there for my birthday we ordered Cantonese style beef, very lovely, and we ordered Beef chow mein the best so good and we ordered seafood mix chow mein the best and we had squid and black bean sauce really good and the next thing we had was fish bites Cantonese style with chilli and garlic. The best we had to take two. That’s why I’m giving tai tung A 5 out of five
I've been coming here for years and years. My family frequents this Chinese restaurant as our automatic "go-to" place to dine. The food is always good though the service can be hit and miss depending which staff is on duty and if you're given a table on ground or first floor. if you can, get seated on ground level, service is a bit faster. Well today..16Nov22 The waitress was very rude. Pushing the bill on me when I wasn't done drinking my tea or digesting my lunch. Then telling me if I had a car parked there's a 2hr limit. I was in the restaurant about 1hr from walking in. So was hardly over staying my welcome. Even if they needed the table she could of asked in a more professional and friendlier way!! In Chinese we say "who stood on your tail!?" when people are rude, aggressive and/or grumpy! Geeze.. Not the service you'd expect in a restaurant. Keep your moody attitude at home. Staff are being paid to provide a service.
We went at 7:00pm weekday. The staff were friendly, salt & pepper calamari was nice, sweet & sour pork was okay and the tofu was a bit oily. Overall we enjoyed the food and environment, not too crowded. Would go again.
We visited here on Easter Monday and it was very busy. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Food came pretty quick and staff did a great job. I would suggest a menu with pictures for the first time visitors as the description is a bit vague for dim sum. Wheelchair accessibility: There is excellent access and a lift.
