Tae's is great, although the menu is somewhat straight to the point- You have starters, then rice dishes, then some curry dishes, then some dough meals. The cuisine is West African, tending towards Nigerian dishes. The lighting and colour scheme make it seem kind of dim, and the decor and furniture seem very basic. Not bad, just... Okay. The food is very good, very tasty and savoury. It's not as spicy as you would expect, and this is a big sticking point with me- When I make those dishes or when my mum makes them, they are quite spicy. You might think it's merely a taste preference, but no, the dishes do not taste quite right without at least a certain level of peppers and chillies in them. Still, you get A LOT of food, which is neatly mollifies the lack of a tongue scorching experience. It's very filling, I've learned to come to Tae's with a completely empty stomach otherwise I simply won't be able to finish everything. The service... Well, it's odd. It's never busy in there and it's not big enough to require more than one waitress, but there just seems to be a general lack of life when you walk in. Still though, the ladies are always friendly and helpful, and the quality of the service you receive is always excellent. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.
