Table Table
"Spend time with us for great pub food in a place you'll love. We serve classic dishes with a modern twist - it's the perfect place to get together with familly and friends. Situated just off the A5, the Horse & Jockey is an ideal meeting point, easy to find and has a large car park. We're also close to Dunstable Downs & Whipsnade Zoo, so are perfectly placed for family days out. Our fantastic garden is the ideal spot for a bite to eat during the summer months, or for those who prefer the shade we have a new pegoda in which to relax. If you're looking for a venue for a family event or party, look no further - we can accomodate parties up to 25 people."

Still like this place for the small rooms that allow for a more private dining experience. On this visit service seemed to struggle. When asking what the Soup of the Day was the staff were unsure. One claiming carrot. Another saying broccoli. I opted for breaded garlic mushrooms that were delivered well in advance of the rest of my group's starters. They were somewhat unappealing and overcooked, putting up resistance against the fork. Main course was Sweet Potato Curry. The curry was cooked into submission and the poppadom soft and pliable.
We called in at 8pm on a quiet Thursday evening, although the service was friendly and polite, that's about as far as it went, I asked the chap that brought our food out for English mustard but, apparently, "we don't do mustard" I was offered ketchup as an alternative but that never appeared, neither did the second round of drinks we ordered. None of the staff ever came back to take a dessert order so we paid at the bar and left. The food was nice.
We usually go to the horse and jockey once a week, and are very rarely disappointed. The acting manager Connor is perfect for this job , the young girl who was our waitress tonight couldn’t have done more. Very pleasant evening and the food was excellent, in fact all the waitresses including Tina are great Parking: Loads of parking spots
We had a lovely meal here after being turned away from the harvester. Staff were lovely and welcoming even though there wasn't long before they stopped serving food. Food was good quality pub grub. Would visit againFood: 5/5
Easy to find. Ample parking. Visited on a Wednesday for lunch. Front house was already slow and under staffed. 1 waitress for the restaurant! Front house man kept wondering off to do wine orders and such and the waitress was inundated with all the customers! Seeing as how busy the waitress was, we went to find the waitress to give the order figured someone should help!. Drinks and food took a while since they were quite clearly UNDERSTAFFED !!!! Food quality.. mediocre.. good dessert. The waitress was lovely and did her best to keep on top of it all and offered us a voucher for the delay. I sincerely hope the management take note and use common sense to provide their staff with help.
Headline - JUST DON'T BOTHER Having to stay at the premier in nextdoor for work premier Inn is fine Tried to get some food for 2 nights after work Both times unsuccessful, both times at around 7-.7.30 - pretty standard times to get some food at a restaurant. Both times we were told that there was a problem or they were full - despite being totally empty Staff were very short, unhelpful and miserable - can only imagine it's a terrible place to work. It's a bit of a joke that the restaurant next to a premier inn cant actually service the hotel guests. Which is essentially the point of it, and where I imagine most of its custom comes from. Beer was also off And the place in run down 1 star only for the refund for the off beer without an argument, isn't it.
We came to this restaurant for a birthday meal, they could not have been more friendly and helpful, they Went above and beyond for my friend's meal due to her dietary needs, Our server was lovely nothing was a problem, and a lovely little birthday gift and card made it even more special. Thankyou food was lovely. Parking: Plenty of parking.
Lovely stop of on way home , brilliant service and very polite and considerate would highly recommend coming as the food was delicious . Tina who served us was extremely polite and friendly. Was a nice change . Thank you
Arrived at 2.30pm for the all day Sunday roast to be told 2 of the 3 roast meats were not available. The food we did choose was warm as opposed to hot and totally uninspiringFood: 2/5
Staff were so lovely and attentive. Roast lunch was quite dry and they had forgotten one of the meal's gravy. Desserts were good though.
