We have just spent 2 nights at the adjacent Premier Inn Hotel and had breakfast and evening meals on both days. The breakfasts were as expected, a plentiful variety of both hot and cold food with unlimited teas and coffee. Our evening meals were both enjoyable and special mention must be made about our server in the evenings, Sarah. She was bright cheerful and proactive and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a very positive experience and we would not hesitate to stay there again
We booked in advance which I'd recommend. Great and plentiful food, free for under 16s with an adult too. We were absolutely stuffed and it's always our end of holiday treat. Staff were welcoming and able to help when neededFood: 5/5
Great service from start to finish. Food was nice but was left feeling short changed, portions were small.Food: 3/5
Stayed at the Premier inn next door so used this place for meals . . Main dinning area was fully booked so sat in the "bar area". Had to clear a table myself to sit down and peel the menus apart to read them. Food was great. The following morning i had breakfast there and had to put a napkin down to stop my arm sticking to the table! . . Make your own judgements :-
Abysmal service, took over an hour for food when restaurant was nearly empty. Starters were small and unimaginative. Main meals when we finally got them after complaining were tiny portions, had to wait for side dishes we had ordered. Went to mcdonalds for a flurry instead of waiting for pudding! Overpriced and terrible!
We waited for nearly 90 minutes for our food to arrive. This was despite talking to a rather rude waitress. Other customers who came in well after us were served. This led us to enquire why we had not been served. It was evident they had forgotten us. What makes this worse this is the 2nd time this has happened. Also we had young children with us. Very disappointed
It's our 48th wedding anniversary so for a rare treat we went to table table for lunch. We kept our coats on because it was so cold in the restaurant. We were seated quickly and ordered after 2mins. Our drinks arrived in 5mins and spent the next 45mins waiting for our starter, which apparently the chef had forgotten about. The waiter apologized and assured us that our main course would arrive without delay. In fact there was a delay of another 45mins even after making enquiries of it. Unfortunately it was hardly worth waiting for, the turkey was dried up and tough, the crispy roast potatoes were squashed and everything else was of a very poor standard. We British don't complain and I didn't but perhaps I should have!!
We were waiting for one and a half hours to get our dinner, it still didn't arrive so we left. Manager and waiting staff flitting about not once acknowledging us, not even any eye Contact. Even if they were busy, which they weren't, someone coming to us to apologise for the waiting time would have been polite. We left without getting served. The manager clearly doesn't have his finger on the pulse
Not 'where would you like to sit?' but 'sit here' in this cubicle right next to other diners despite the place not being busy.... Officious, impatiemty manageress with a captive market from next door hotel. Menu expensive for the times. Music too loud as well as awful ... and she says she 'cant turn it down'. Atmosphere non-existent. Avoid at all costs.
Rude management unable to handle the pressure on mothers day. Table booked for 2pm to be told we have to wait for previous diners to leave. Got told by management that maybe we should ask the people to leave that still occupied our table and then rudely reminded that it is mothers day ao what do we expect re being busy. Finally sat down just after 2.30 and then food arrived just before 4.15. Hungry kids hungry adults hungry mum. Waiting staff were friendly and pleasant and not flustered with the busy day so well done to them Food prices were decent and not too expensive. Food quality wasn't bad but nothing to shout home about. Child meal portions were small.
