A lovely little village and just off the A35. Garden centre, cafe and gift shop and the animals.nPark in the Symondsbury estate car park and climb Colmers Hill and take in the wonderful views.nExplore the ancient Hollow ways, pick up a map at the visitor centre for 50p and admire the carvings or add your own.
Had a fantastic lunch in the cafe, the food is fantastic as is the coffee! Lovely setting and there are various shops and galleries to visit.
We paid 50p for a map to support the estate, but the experience was definitely worth it.nnThe sunken roads holloways were like something out of lord of the rings, apart from the occasional Homer Simpson or Mandolorian carved into the sandstone. nnThe views when higher up are also amazing. We went a slightly different route when heading back and found a couple of rope swings too.
Nice morning walk up colmers hill. Lovely colourful flora at cafe with nice unusual items in shop units at symondsbury estate. Bridport.
We have a second home in Chideock. We have both walked and driven to the Symondsbury Estate. This a fun place to shop and I highly recommend the restaurant there. The service is friendly and the food is great. I have attached a picture of the walk up Hell Lane which is not far from Symondsbury
